Severity: P2 Medium
Problem: Moving the 6.x pages under v6/ leaves four previously public RN URLs with no page and no redirect: /sdk/react_native/manual/, /custom/, /crashes/, /errorboundary/. The same goes for the hyphenated aliases (/sdk/react-native/<page>). docusaurus.config.ts isn't touched by this PR. I ran npm run build and confirmed that none of these four paths exists in build/ (nor do /sdk/react_native/v6/ and /sdk/react_native/v6/privacy/). Note that manual/ is now only a directory of sub-pages with no index.
Impact: onBrokenLinks can't catch this, because it only checks links inside the repo. Bookmarks, StackOverflow answers, dashboard links and agent-skill links to those pages become 404s. The repo's own docs/ai/agent-skills/sdk/react-native/SKILL.md links to /custom/, /crashes/ and /errorboundary/ (lines 181, 205, 209, 210). The config comment says "Old URLs that must keep working belong in the client-redirects list", and the Android move did add redirects for this.
Fix: Add redirects to docusaurus.config.ts, mirroring the Android entries:
{ from: '/sdk/react_native/manual', to: '/sdk/react_native/manual/bug-reporting/' },
{ from: '/sdk/react_native/custom', to: '/sdk/react_native/events-and-traces/' },
{ from: '/sdk/react_native/crashes', to: '/sdk/react_native/manual/crash-error-reporting/' },
{ from: '/sdk/react_native/errorboundary', to: '/sdk/react_native/error-boundary/' },
{ from: '/sdk/react_native/v6', to: '/sdk/react_native/v6/installation/' },
{ from: '/sdk/react_native/v6/privacy', to: '/sdk/react_native/v6/privacy/overview/' },Alternatively, send the old custom, crashes and errorboundary URLs to the matching /v6/ page. That's arguably safer while 6.x is the stable release.
There was a problem hiding this comment.
Fixed in 7950041 (see the thread above): I pointed the retired custom/crashes/errorboundary/manual URLs at the matching /sdk/react_native/v6/ pages, the safer option while 6.x is stable, and added the v6 and v6/privacy roots. The release-notes link to the 6.x logs page is fixed in 69ca29b. The agent skill (docs/ai/agent-skills/sdk/react-native/SKILL.md) is generated from bugsee-for-ai and still describes 6.x: left for the follow-up that regenerates it for 7.x.

Severity: P3 Low
Problem: The new redirects cover only the underscore spelling. createRedirects adds the hyphenated alias only for pages that exist. custom, crashes, errorboundary and manual are now redirects, not pages, so they get no alias.
Impact: I built the branch and checked build/. /sdk/react_native/custom/, /crashes/, /errorboundary/ and /manual/ exist. /sdk/react-native/custom/, /crashes/, /errorboundary/ and /manual/ do not. They worked before this PR, because the hyphenated alias was generated from the old pages. /sdk/react-native/logs/ and /network/ still resolve. /sdk/react-native/v6/ has an index.html, so the v6 pages themselves are fine.
Scenario: A user opens an old bookmark or search result such as https://docs.bugsee.com/sdk/react-native/crashes/ and gets a 404.
Fix: Add the four hyphenated spellings to the explicit list, pointing at the same v6 targets:
{ from: '/sdk/react-native/custom', to: '/sdk/react_native/v6/custom/' },
{ from: '/sdk/react-native/crashes', to: '/sdk/react_native/v6/crashes/' },
{ from: '/sdk/react-native/errorboundary', to: '/sdk/react_native/v6/errorboundary/' },
{ from: '/sdk/react-native/manual', to: '/sdk/react_native/v6/manual/' },This is low priority, because the hyphenated form is much less common than the underscore form.
There was a problem hiding this comment.
Fixed in 61c780b: the four hyphenated spellings (/sdk/react-native/custom, /crashes, /errorboundary, /manual) now redirect to the same 6.x pages.

Android default -> Default Value
There was a problem hiding this comment.
Fixed in e0dbe12: the column is now "Default" everywhere in the RN 7.x pages, and per-platform values are given only where the platforms really differ.

There was a problem hiding this comment.
Platform balance: the 7.x pages are written from the Android side
React Native apps run on both platforms, but most pages describe Android and leave iOS as "the iOS SDK has its own". I checked the iOS values against iOS SDK 7.0.0-beta7, the version native-versions.json pins (BGSOptionsDescriptors.m:25-145). In most places the iOS answer exists and is easy to add.
Proposed convention for the whole section
- "Default" instead of "Android default". 44 of the 46 shared keys have the same default on iOS 7.0.0-beta7. This generalizes my comment on
manual/bug-reporting.mdx:20. - Where the defaults differ, give both, e.g.
150(Android) /50(iOS). Only two keys differ:config.max-data-sizeandcapture.video.adaptive. - Every "On Android, X" gets its pair: "On iOS, Y", or an explicit "iOS: no equivalent".
- Every link to
/sdk/android/...gets its iOS counterpart (/sdk/ios/v7/...or/sdk/ios/...). - Drop the disclaimers "Types and defaults are the Android SDK's" (
configuration.mdx:138) and "the iOS SDK has its own" (configuration.mdx:105).
Must fix (inline comments)
configuration.mdx:165:capture.video.adaptiveis on by default on iOS.migration.mdx:148-156: three iOS default changes are missing.privacy/cleanup.md:80: iOS does not seem to enforcemax-data-size.privacy/network.md:153: iOS performance transactions carry the full URL.
Should fix: iOS is thinner than Android
- Other "Android default" tables:
logs.mdx:47,network.mdx:37,performance.mdx:201,manual/bug-reporting.mdx:20and:213,privacy/cleanup.md:78.breadcrumbs.mdx:30markscapture.breadcrumbs.extras"(Android)", but iOS has the key too (defaultfalse; it attachesNSNotification.userInfoto device-event breadcrumbs). - "On Android" with no iOS sentence:
network.mdx:162and:265,feedback.md:48and:52,notification-relay.md:96,user-session-data.mdx:115, andreport-handler.mdx:73(on iOS: a fixed 25 s, no option).appearance.md:39andprivacy/video.md:158behave the same on iOS, so "On both platforms" is enough there. - Thin iOS content:
overview.mdx:32lists crash types for Android only.manual/crash-error-reporting.mdx:58lacks the Xcode debugger and TestFlight caveats.breadcrumbs.mdx:37does not say where native breadcrumbs come from on iOS.symbolication/ios.mdxhas no "Turning uploads off" section to matchsymbolication/android.mdx:169.
- iOS part of
configuration.mdx::131-132say "iOS SDK default" instead of the values (captureAVPlayerandcaptureDiskSpaceare bothfalse). The iOS-only keys at:208are a bare list with no defaults, descriptions or link, while the Android list links to/sdk/android/configuration. - Android-only links:
- Related pages in
configuration.mdx:339,appearance.md:101andperformance.mdx:223, plusfeedback.md:138andprivacy/network.md:47. performance.mdx:31sends iOS readers to a 6.x page.release-notes.mddoes not link the native SDKs' release notes.
- Related pages in
The reverse also happens: lifecycle.mdx:63-65 describes launch timing for iOS only.
Questions
- Does
attach()work on iOS when the app launches the SDK from its AppDelegate? The page only describes it for Android auto-launch. - Is React Native's
WebSockettraffic recorded on iOS?capture.websocketdefaults totruein iOS 7. - Does the iOS log filter have a deadline (
logs.mdx:159)? I could not find one in the iOS SDK.
Not about platforms, but wrong on both
installation.mdx:146, lifecycle.mdx:39 and expo.mdx:135 say launch resolves false when the SDK is already running. Both native SDKs report success in that case, so it resolves true:
- iOS 7.0.0-beta7 returns the running instance (the "Bugsee already launched" branch of
+launchWithToken:options:started:), and the bridge resolves@(instance != nil). - Android (checked v7.4.1) calls the completion callback with
trueand ignores the options, with a logcat warning.
The bridge comments (ios/BugseeModule.mm:1260, android/.../BugseeModule.java:232) repeat the same claim. This also changes the reason expo.mdx:135 gives for attach(): launch does not return false, it silently drops the options.

On iOS this default is true, not false. iOS SDK 7.0.0-beta7 registers capture.video.adaptive as on (BGSOptionsDescriptors.m:94); the comment there calls it the one deliberate divergence from Android. The iOS side is also documented in docs/sdk/ios/v7/migration.mdx §3.

An RN app also gets three silent changes on iOS that this table does not list. The 6.x wrapper did not send these (or sent them explicitly), and iOS SDK 7.0.0-beta7 registers new defaults:

Fixed in e0dbe12: the migration guide now lists the early-crash detection, adaptive video and crash handler changes on iOS. One nuance: under 6.x the iOS crash handler already reported software-raised signals, so the page describes the change as an added Mach exception handler instead of newly reported signals.

There was a problem hiding this comment.
iOS does not seem to enforce this limit. iOS SDK 7.0.0-beta7 registers config.max-data-size = 50 (BGSOptionsDescriptors.m:52) and maps the maxDataSize property (BugseeOptions.m:193), but I found no code that reads it. So nothing appears to cap pending reports on iOS, and maxPendingReports / maxPendingReportAge have no iOS equivalent either.
Could you confirm with the iOS SDK team? If that's right, this table needs Android and iOS columns (iOS: "not enforced in 7.0.0-beta7" / "no equivalent"), and the sentence above ("does not grow without bound") needs an iOS caveat. The same applies to configuration.mdx:96.
There was a problem hiding this comment.
Fixed in e0dbe12: confirmed from source that iOS 7.0.0-beta7 registers config.max-data-size but nothing reads it, and has no count or age cap. The retention tables now have Android and iOS columns, with an iOS caution, and the "does not grow without bound" claim is removed (also in configuration). I'd still welcome confirmation from the iOS SDK team.
| - **A cleared filter.** `setNetworkFilter(null)` removes the filter, and events are then recorded without it. | ||
| - **Development reloads.** After a JavaScript reload the native filter stays installed, but nothing in the new runtime answers it, so every network event is lost until your code calls `setNetworkFilter` again. Nothing is recorded unfiltered. | ||
| - **Breadcrumbs.** The network filter does not reach breadcrumbs. If you turn breadcrumbs on, an HTTP request breadcrumb can carry the request's URL: on iOS with the built-in query-parameter redaction applied, on Android as it is. Repeat your URL rules in a [breadcrumb filter](/sdk/react_native/privacy/breadcrumbs). | ||
| - **Performance transactions.** With performance monitoring on (the default), each HTTP request also becomes a performance transaction that carries its URL, and it is included in reports. Your network filter does not reach it. Android applies the built-in redaction to it; for iOS, redaction of transaction URLs is not specified in this beta. If your URLs carry secrets, turn off `com.bugsee.option.performance.enabled`; see [Performance monitoring](/sdk/react_native/performance). |
There was a problem hiding this comment.
The iOS answer can be read from the source: BGSNetworkPerformanceProvider.m:107 stores url.absoluteString in the transaction's http.url attribute, which is the full URL with its query string. I found no sanitizer in Performance/. Unless the iOS team knows of redaction applied later, this should be a warning rather than "not specified": on iOS, transaction URLs are recorded as is, query included.
There was a problem hiding this comment.
Fixed in e0dbe12: confirmed that iOS performance transactions store the full URL, including the query string, with no later redaction found. This is now a warning on the page; Android redacts it.

What
Documents the new Bugsee React Native SDK 7.x (
@bugsee/react-native, beta) and moves the existing pages to Previous versions, following the Android SDK section as the model.docs/sdk/react_native/v6/(slugs, links and sidebar updated), each with a Previous version banner. The docs index keeps pointing at the stable 6.x pages while 7.x is in beta.docs/sdk/react_native/, each with a Beta warning at the top that links to the stable 6.x docs and to the migration guide. The sidebar has a Stable release (6.x) docs link at the top of the section.Pages (one commit per page, in review order)
How it was written and checked
Each page was written against the SDK source (and the native SDK sources for platform behaviour), then reviewed by an independent reviewer who re-verified every claim, type-checked the code samples, and ran the link/anchor/spelling checks. Review fixes were folded into each page's own commit, so the history stays one commit per page. The full site build (
onBrokenLinks/onBrokenAnchors= throw) passes; cspell passes overdocs/.Notes for reviewers
/sdk/react_native/custom,/crashes,/errorboundary,/manual) redirect to the matching 6.x pages.docs/ai/agent-skills/sdk/react-native/SKILL.md(generated frombugsee-for-ai) still describes 6.x and links the unversioned pages, which now describe 7.x; regenerate it for 7.x or point its links at/sdk/react_native/v6/....🤖 Generated with Claude Code
