Network events: writable fields and stages differ per platform; addNetworkEvent silently ignores the other platform's fields #138
Found while documenting the 7.x beta (docs PR bugsee/docs#110). Checked against the source on main at 7.0.0-beta3; file:line references are to the SDK repo unless a repo is named. Not reproduced on a device unless a line says so.
The fields a network filter may change differ: Android errorDescription, errorShortMessage, statusText; iOS redirectedFromURL, error (src/network/filter.ts, NetworkFilterBridge.java, BGSRNNetworkFilter.m).
addNetworkEvent quietly ignores the other platform's fields (NetworkEvents.java, BGSRNNetworkEvents.m), and on iOS the redirect and timings stages are stored with the same event type as a completed request.
The snapshot's type values are platform-specific (Android: the stage names before, complete, redirect, error, abort, timing, websocket; iOS: before, complete, cancel, error, websocket, udpsocket).
RN WebSocket traffic is not captured by the package (no JS patch); the iOS-only option com.bugsee.option.capture.websocket exists.
addNetworkEvent and addBreadcrumb fail silently (a log line only) when nothing is recorded; they never throw or return a status.
Suggested direction
Normalize the writable-field set and the type vocabulary across platforms (or document the intersection as the contract), and let addNetworkEvent/addBreadcrumb report a dropped event in dev builds.
