Root cause of 8 orphaned fake_apr.py serves on lambda (cwd w5382-5761, ppid systemd --user): reap_work is an EXIT trap, which never runs when the check is SIGKILLed (cancelled/timed-out job). Adds a detached setsid watcher that repeats the sweep (match on this run's unique WORK dir) and removes it once the shell is gone. Proven by a SIGKILL repro: serve gone and dir removed within 5 s. Gate-adjacent (scripts/check_*): needs 2 non-author seats; not armed.
