Stacked on #551: this PR edits the PR-list error rows in HubPRs.swift (the short line with Details from 04d7394 and ccccff8) and project-ref lookups that exist only on #551; on master 6026384 and 9888c78 conflict.

Hub link work from the unified branch: a PR link opens any project checked out under the repo roots (the folder named like the project wins), commit=<from>..<to> opens a run of commits (also tools hub open --commit), a fork's checkout opens an upstream commit link, GitLab MR commits come oldest first, and a long PR description no longer freezes the hub.

Commits (8, 14 files)

  • 02516c5 fix(GenesisHub, prs): a PR link opens any project checked out under the repo roots, by its project name, even before the hub's project index loads
  • 89f98cc fix(GenesisHub, prs): of two clones of one project, the folder named like the project names the PR group and is the checkout a link opens
  • 329ec7f fix(GenesisHub, prs): a GitLab MR's commits come oldest first, as a GitHub PR's do
  • 95c5985 feat(GenesisHub, prs): a hub link's commit=.. opens that run of a PR's commits, both ends included, and marks them in its commits list
  • 7360b85 fix(GenesisHub, prs): a long PR description sits outside the overview's lazy stack, so a link to the commit right under it no longer freezes the hub
  • 01142bb fix(GenesisHub, prs): tools hub open --commit takes .., as the hub link does
  • ee154f3 fix(GenesisHub): a commit link that names the upstream path opens in a fork's checkout with the same project name that holds the commit
  • a5ddfac fix(GenesisHub, prs): GitLab MR commits are reversed with slice().reverse(), since toReversed() is missing from one typecheck config's lib

Checks

Cut from feat/2026-10-13-enhancements-unified (#507) by cherry-pick; every commit applied cleanly on feat/gt-hotfixes. tsgo --noEmit passes, and the tests of the touched folders passed when the split was verified. An independent Codex review of this branch is running; its findings land as follow-up commits.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Open a commit range using <from>..<to>; both endpoints are included, and ranges work in either order.
    • Review selected commits within a PR, with an option to return to the whole PR.
    • Open project-qualified PR and MR references, including GitLab references, and resolve them to matching local checkouts when available.
    • Commit links can find commits in matching fork or mirror checkouts.
  • Bug Fixes

    • GitLab MR commits now appear in chronological order.

📝 Walkthrough

This PR adds inclusive commit-range handling to commit links and PR views. It resolves named PR/MR references against local checkouts and orders GitLab MR commits oldest first.

Changes: Inclusive commit ranges

Layer / File(s) Summary
Parse and document commit ranges
src/hub/lib/agents/agents.test.ts, src/hub/lib/open.ts, src/hub/lib/pr-ref.ts, src/utils/browser-router/presets.ts, src/macos/GenesisTools/Sources/Parts/Hub/Hub/HubCommitLink.swift
Commit inputs accept a single SHA or a two-endpoint range. Command and browser descriptions include the range form.
Resolve range commits and diff base
src/macos/GenesisTools/Sources/Parts/Hub/Hub/HubCommitLink.swift, src/macos/GenesisTools/Sources/Parts/Hub/Hub/HubWindow.swift, src/macos/GenesisTools/Tests/HubLogicTests.swift
Lookup checks both endpoints and their ancestry, then uses the older commit’s parent as the diff base. A root commit uses Git’s empty-tree hash.
Select and display PR commit ranges
src/macos/GenesisTools/Sources/Parts/Hub/Hub/HubPRs.swift, src/macos/GenesisTools/Tests/HubLogicTests.swift
The PR view selects commits inclusively in either endpoint order, sets the diff scope, and marks selected commits in the overview.

PR and MR reference resolution

Layer / File(s) Summary
Match references to configured checkouts
src/hub/lib/pr/project-ref.ts, src/hub/lib/pr/pr.test.ts
The resolver matches named references to configured checkouts, reports missing or ambiguous matches, and prefers project-named clones. Tests cover matching and fallback cases.
Use resolved references in CLI and app flows
src/hub/lib/pr/find.ts, src/hub/lib/prs.ts, src/hub/lib/pr/pr.test.ts, src/macos/GenesisTools/Sources/Parts/Hub/Hub/HubPRs.swift, src/macos/GenesisTools/Tests/HubLogicTests.swift
CLI lookup and project listing use resolved references. The app passes project-qualified refs to direct lookup and updates its missing-reference guidance.

GitLab MR commit ordering

Layer / File(s) Summary
Order GitLab MR commits oldest first
src/utils/git/origins/prs.ts, src/utils/git/origins/detector.test.ts
The GitLab MR parser reverses the returned commit list before mapping it. The test expects oldest-first order.

Some project-qualified links and commit ranges can fail in specific checkout or input conditions. The PR is mergeable with owner awareness of these limitations, though fixing them first would make the new link behavior more reliable.

Review round 1

Fixed in this push (6833ebb, 8c3746b), from eve, CodeRabbit and two independent Codex reviews (medium, then xhigh effort):

  • Project refs: a ! ref ignores a same-named folder in the cwd; ./app!12 and ~/work/app!12 read as folders; a failed checkout scan is logged and owner/repo#42 still opens; a name starting with - never reaches the CLI as a flag; a page URL opens the same clone as app!12.
  • Commit links: the upstream checkout opens only when it holds every commit of the link, else the fork that does; a range from a root commit loads, and a shallow clone says to fetch more history; a range covering the whole PR marks all its commits.
  • GitLab MR commits are fetched with --paginate (glab merges the pages into one array), so a range never starts at the 100th-newest commit.
  • A deep-link failure survives the next list load; a failed detail load still checks both range ends against the cached commits.

Checked: bun scripts/test.ts src/hub/lib/pr/pr.test.ts src/utils/git/origins/detector.test.ts src/hub/lib/prs.test.ts 110 pass; tsgo --noEmit exit 0; swift test --package-path src/macos/GenesisTools --disable-build-manifest-caching --filter 'HubLogicTests|ReviewVersionsTests' at 8c3746b: 70 tests, 0 failures. The full Swift suite runs before the PR is called ready.
