release: ship an aarch64-apple-darwin apr asset (v0.69.3-rc.1 has none; mini builds from tag) #4292
v0.69.3-rc.1 carries no aarch64-apple-darwin apr asset, so mini has to build from the tag. apr update (#4232) also finds no candidate on darwin, because release_candidate needs this target's asset.
Neither binary-release.yml nor nightly.yml has any macOS target. Adding one needs a new runs-on (GitHub macos-14, or mini as a self-hosted runner). That is outside the standing yes for workflow PRs, so it needs an operator/cop OK on which runner.
Uploaded without --clobber; downloading them back from the release gives matching sha256. The permanent fix (release and nightly lanes on the mini, plus an asset gate that goes RED when an asset is missing) is #4353, folding into #4314/#4315.
P0 to P1 (2026-10-14 P0 triage): P0 now means it blocks the next release or carries the operator's own words on it; this issue does neither, so it stays on the 0.71.0 milestone at P1.
merged into #5317 (master ticket for epic #4381; triage rule 7b, 2026-10-14). It is a checklist row there; reopen this issue when work on it starts or its PR opens.
Moved: this sub-ticket is now a row in #5347 (Apple silicon as a first-class apr host: darwin release asset and unified-memory reporting). The earlier comment said it merged into #5317, but that master never listed it.
