fix(release): close CodeRabbit findings missed on merged PRs - #1375
Closes the CodeRabbit findings that were never answered on pull requests already merged for 4.2.5: "Outside diff range" comments inside review bodies, which have no thread, and two threads left open. Each was checked against current main first; five are valid and fixed, three are not valid and are explained here.
Valid, fixed
Major, security (fix(portable): keep the logs in the portable folder #1358, review 5637484834): the Authorization redaction of the diagnostic log stopped at the first space, so Authorization: Basic dXNlcjpwYXNz kept its base64 credential in the diagnostic bundle and in the MCP snapshot. Digest, NTLM, Negotiate and custom schemes kept their parameters the same way. Fixed in debug_tests.rs and in its frontend twin, now src/utils/redactSensitive.ts (moved out of DebugPanel.tsx so it can be tested).
Minor, privacy (fix(portable): keep the logs in the portable folder #1358, same review): the Rust IPv4 rule used a look-ahead the regex crate rejects, and filter_map(... .ok()) dropped it without a word, so no address was ever redacted in the on-disk log tail. The rule is a plain address pattern and the loopback and unspecified addresses are kept in code; a rule that does not compile now stops the first redaction with the pattern in the message, and a test compiles every rule.
Minor (fix(transfer): bring the native bulk to relative paths, sync trees, no-clobber and MCP #1334, review 5621206257): a whole-call bulk error (Timeout, ConnectionLost) in perform_sync_bulk marked every file Failed and bypassed the single-file fallback. It now goes through a new error_goes_back_to_single_file, the error form of the shared predicate. MCP aeroftp_upload_many had the same gap and is fixed the same way.
Minor (fix(open-with): read file URIs and open any file in AeroFile #1359, thread 4368363356): an OS-open request that met a primary-panel listing still loading took the panel's refusal for a failed load and was dropped, after it had left the backend queue. The panel's latch is a small gate and the open waits for it, up to 15 s.
fix(transfer): bring the native bulk to relative paths, sync trees, no-clobber and MCP #1334 review 5621206257, "Account every member when cancellation wins checkout" (transfer_dag_batch.rs): leaving a file that never started unaccounted when Stop wins is the batch contract, not a gap. The whole-file node does the same (Ok(None) => return NodeOutcome::Completed), the multipart nodes say so ("leave the file unaccounted (legacy contract)"), and batch_dag_cancellation_skips_transfers asserts failed == 0 for a pre-cancelled batch, with cancelled: true on the result. Counting the members as Failed would make a Stop inflate the failure count for the group path only.
The generic key=value rule replaced password: x with password=*** in Rust and password: *** in the frontend; both keep the key and its separator now and read one list of names, which also covers access_token, refresh_token and id_token (a \btoken never matched inside them).
An AWS SigV4 Authorization header stopped at the ; of SignedHeaders=host;x-amz-date; the whole header is one marker now.
ai::sanitize_error_message, the scrub of error text for the chat, the CLI agent, MCP and the models, had no Authorization rule at all (Bearer tokens of 20 or more characters and x-api-key only), so a provider that reflects a request header kept Authorization: Basic ... in the error. It redacts the whole value now with the same rules as the log tail, which live once in src-tauri/src/authorization_redaction.rs and are used by both Rust scrubs. Its callers are the AI chat stream and native errors, the AeroAgent session and runner workers, MCP tool errors, the CLI agent and, through sanitize_api_error, the provider errors.
The same scrub dropped a rule that failed to compile in the silent way the IPv4 rule was lost; it now stops with the pattern in the message.
The Authorization rules run first in all three tables, so Authorization: Bearer sk-ant-... is one marker and not two.
The Rust table gained the JSON secret-field rule the frontend table already had.
The three redaction tables run src/shared/redaction-cases.json (35 cases, the 21 tagged authorization in all three, each also redacted a second time to prove a redacted line is stable), so a rule changed in one place only turns the other tests red.
Other redactors checked
filelu::redact_key, mega_native::redact_sid, opendrive::redact_session, proton::redact_cli_args, bin/aeroftp_cli.rs::redact_url_for_display, delta_sync_rsync::sanitize_rsync_message and community_benchmark::redact_ipv6 each scrub one thing (a query parameter, a session value, a CLI argument, URL userinfo, a path, an address) and have no Authorization rule, so the first-word shape does not apply to them.
community_benchmark::benchmark_sanitize skips a pattern that does not compile with a tracing::warn!, so it is not silent.
Tests
Each fix has a test that was seen failing before it: the shared cases fail on the old tables (authorization: ***REDACTED*** dXNlcjpwYXNz in both languages), every_redaction_rule_compiles fails with the regex crate's look-around error, the sync, MCP, gate and hook tests fail with the old behaviour.
cargo test --lib: 6729 passed, 0 failed, 40 ignored; the 241 tests of the touched modules pass again on the final head.
cargo test --bin aeroftp-cli: 944 passed.
npm run test:unit: 283 files, 2600 tests, and the 14 gui-driver tests pass. npm run typecheck, npm run i18n:validate (0 to translate), npm run check:provider-inventory, the security regression suite and check-version-sites pass. No string or command changed.
Summary by CodeRabbit
Bug Fixes
Diagnostic bundles and error messages better protect sensitive information, including authorization credentials, API keys, and other secret values.
Bulk transfers retry files individually after temporary connection or service errors. Other failures, such as permission denials, remain final errors.
Operating-system file-open requests wait briefly for active navigation to finish. If a folder is still loading, a warning explains that the file may not have appeared and can be opened again.
File-open requests are retained when navigation is interrupted by a suspended or changing view.
Localization
Added translations for the folder-loading warning in supported languages.
The Authorization rule of the diagnostic redaction stopped at the first space, so "Authorization: Basic dXNlcjpwYXNz" came out as "authorization: ***REDACTED*** dXNlcjpwYXNz": the base64 credential stayed in the diagnostic bundle and in the MCP snapshot, which read the same tail. Digest, NTLM, Negotiate and any custom scheme kept their parameters the same way. The value is now an RFC 7235 credentials production (a scheme, then a token68 or a comma-separated parameter list with quoted values), a quoted value (JSON, Debug) ends at its closing quote so the keys after it stay, a value cut inside its quotes ends with the line, and JSON inside a string is cut at its own closing quote. The rules run ahead of the Bearer rule, so "Authorization: Bearer x" is one marker, and a line that is already redacted redacts to itself.
The Rust table lost its IPv4 rule without a word: the pattern used a look-ahead, the regex crate rejects it, and the rule was dropped on the error, so no address was ever redacted in the on-disk log tail. The rule is a plain address pattern now and the loopback and unspecified addresses are kept in code. A rule that does not compile stops the first redaction with the pattern in the message, and a test compiles every rule. The Rust table also lacked the JSON secret-field rule the frontend table has, which is added.
The frontend table moves out of DebugPanel into src/utils/redactSensitive.ts so it can be tested. Both tables run src/shared/redaction-cases.json, 26 cases, so a rule changed on one side only turns the other side's test red. The log tail is redacted by a function of its own, tested with a Basic credential and a public address.

… whole
The generic key=value rule replaced "password: x" with "password=***REDACTED***" in Rust and with "password: ***REDACTED***" in the frontend table. Both keep the key and its separator now, and both read one list of names: the union of the two tables, plus access_token, refresh_token and id_token, which neither caught as key=value (a "\btoken" never matches inside "access_token") and which the JSON rule did not list either.
An AWS SigV4 header "Authorization: AWS4-HMAC-SHA256 Credential=..., SignedHeaders=host;x-amz-date, Signature=..." stopped its parameter list at the ';' of SignedHeaders, leaving the signature to the 32+ hex rule. A parameter value may hold a ';' now and the whole header is one marker.
The shared cases pin all of it: eight new ones, run by both tables.

sanitize_error_message dropped a rule that failed to compile (filter_map over Regex::new().ok()), the same silent loss that left the diagnostic log tail without its IPv4 rule. A rule that does not compile stops the first scrub with the pattern in the message; the existing tests of the scrub force the initialisation in CI.

…ingle-file path
A native bulk answers Err when it refused the whole call before any item reached the wire. The sync driver turned that Err into a failure of every file, so a Timeout or a lost connection on the call itself skipped the single-file retry that a file lost the same way already got. The shared predicate now has a form for an error alone, error_goes_back_to_single_file, and perform_sync_bulk hands every file back to the driver's single-file path for a transport failure and keeps any other refusal final. MCP aeroftp_upload_many had the same gap: a refused call failed every item; the refusal arrives there as text, which is read through the same predicate as the batch driver reads it, and a transport failure sends the group to upload_file.
The GUI batch, the CLI and the AeroSync runner share execute_provider_bulk, which already settled a refusal through the predicate; tests pin that for Timeout, a lost connection and a 503, and for a final refusal that sends nothing. A test over the typed error and the same error held as text shows the two decide alike.

…pping the open
A file the OS opens leaves the backend queue before it is handled, and the primary panel refuses a navigation started while another one loads. An open that met a listing in flight (a slow folder, a network mount) took the refusal for a failed load and returned: the folder and the file were never opened, selected or previewed. The panel's latch is a small gate now, and the open waits for it, up to 15 s so that a listing that never answers cannot hold the whole drain; a click on a folder is still refused as before.

The hook wrote its handler and ready refs during render. A render React starts and discards (a suspended transition) could tell a running drain that the app is ready, and the drain took the next batch under the lock screen. The refs are written after each commit, before the drain effect of the same commit reads them.

sanitize_error_message, which scrubs the error text that reaches the chat, the CLI agent, MCP tool errors and the models (and, through sanitize_api_error, every provider error), had no Authorization rule: only Bearer tokens of 20 or more characters and x-api-key. A provider or proxy that reflects the request kept "Authorization: Basic dXNlcjpwYXNz" in the message. It redacts the whole value now, with the same semantics as the diagnostic log tail: a scheme and its token68 or parameter list, a quoted value ending at its quote, JSON inside a string, a marker that scrubs to itself.
The three rules live once in src-tauri/src/authorization_redaction.rs and both Rust scrubs use them, each with its own marker; the frontend table writes the same rules. The shared redaction cases carry a group tag, and the 21 tagged authorization cases run in all three tables, this one reading the marker as [REDACTED].
The Authorization rules now come first in every table. Behind the sk- rule, "Authorization: Bearer sk-ant-..." left two markers; it is one now, and a case pins it.

Learning: In axpdev-lab/aeroftp, scripts/i18n-stale-english.mjs computes the enHash in scripts/i18n-former-english.json from flattened dotted-key translations, not the full src/i18n/locales/en.json document. readLocale() flattens the document's translations object; enHash(map) hashes JSON.stringify(Object.keys(map).sort().map((k) => [k, map[k]])) with SHA-256. Hash verification must exclude meta and use the same flattening and sorting contract.

Summary
Shared rules and frontend integration src-tauri/src/authorization_redaction.rs, src/shared/*, src/utils/redactSensitive.ts, src/components/DebugPanel.tsx
Shared redaction rules cover Authorization values, secrets, addresses, and related credential forms. Fixtures test output and idempotence. DebugPanel uses the shared utility.

An opaque credential after the scheme was cut at the first character the token68 fallback does not know: "Authorization: AWS AKIAEXAMPLE:c2lnbmF0dXJl" kept ":c2lnbmF0dXJl" behind the marker, and so did a "%" or an "@" in a token. The value is already bounded by whitespace, so the fallback takes any run of characters that is not a delimiter, the class an auth-param token uses; the parameter list is still tried first, so Digest, Hawk and SigV4 are unchanged. Two shared cases, tagged authorization, pin it in the three tables.
An OS open that met a listing still loading waited for it, but dropped the answer: after the 15 s wait ran out, or after another navigation took the gate in the few microtasks between the wake-up and the entry, the open returned with no word, and its batch had already left the backend queue. The gate has enterWhenFree, which takes the gate itself in the same synchronous step as each wake-up and waits again when something got in first. changeLocalDirectory takes waitMs and onBusy, and a folder that still cannot load says so: a warning with the new keys openRequest.folderBusyTitle and openRequest.folderBusy, translated into the 46 locales (it by hand).
The hook's refs were written in a passive effect, which React flushes after the commit and after a task that resumes the drain, so a drain waking right after the lock screen committed could read "ready" and take the next batch. They are written in a layout effect now, in the commit itself. The test makes the commit take its time so that the scheduler yields before the passive effects, resumes the handler in a task of its own, and fails with the old effect (the second batch is taken under the lock).

Redact quoted secret values in both supported field formats.
The inline pattern does not match password="secret" or token: "secret". The JSON pattern also stops at an escaped quote, so {"password":"abc\"def"} leaves def visible after redaction. Use escape-aware alternatives for quoted values.

25-28: 🚀 Performance & Scalability
No super-linear matching defect is established.
The repeated AUTH_PARAM items require commas, and the quoted and unquoted value branches have disjoint starts. The standalone probe showed no super-linear growth for malformed inputs up to 16,000 items. No actionable performance issue remains.
… tail
The secret-field rules of both tables left quoted values alone. The key=value rule read a value as a run of characters that are not quotes, so password="secret", token: "secret" and api_key='x' were not redacted at all, and the JSON rule read "[^"]*", which stops at an escaped quote, so {"password":"abc\"def"} kept def" in the bundle and the MCP snapshot.
A value after a key is now the marker (a redacted line stays as it is), a quoted string that ends at its closing quote with an escaped quote inside it (a line cut inside the value ends with the line), or a bare word up to the next delimiter; the JSON rule reads the same quoted string. x-api-key had the same bare-word gap and uses the same value, and it joins the JSON field names. A secret field inside a JSON string, where each quote is escaped, is redacted like the Authorization one. The text is the same in the Rust and the frontend table.
Nine shared cases pin it, run by both tables; ai::sanitize_error_message has no key=value or JSON secret rule, and its x-api-key rule reads \S+, which already takes a quoted value.

@coderabbitai the outside-diff Major of review 5645486634 (the secret-field rules leaked quoted values and stopped at an escaped quote) is fixed in 1dc903a: a value after a key is now the marker, a quoted string that ends at its closing quote with escaped quotes inside it (a cut line ends with the line), or a bare word, in both the frontend and the Rust table, and the JSON rule reads the same quoted string. So password="secret", token: "secret", api_key='x' and {"password":"abc\"def"} are redacted whole. x-api-key had the same gap and uses the same value, and a secret field inside a JSON string is redacted like the Authorization one. Nine shared cases pin it in both tables, and ai::sanitize_error_message has no key=value or JSON secret rule (its x-api-key rule reads \S+).

Add a shared case for an escaped quote inside a quoted key/value secret.
The shared table covers escaped quotes only inside JSON values. No case covers a quoted key/value secret whose value contains \", such as password="abc\"def". Both redaction tables run every shared case, so one fixture guards the Rust and frontend paths together. This case fails until the escaped-value fix lands, so add it with that fix.

… the redaction
Three more shapes kept a secret in the log tail and the error text. A field name matched only in the exact spelling, so accessToken, authToken, api-key, clientSecret, refreshToken and private-key stayed in clear; the names are snake_case, kebab-case or camelCase now, and may follow snake or kebab words (session_token, db_password) but not an open prefix, so nextToken, tokens, bypass and tests_pass stay. A value whose quotes are escaped (password=\"hunter2\", authorization=\"Basic ...\", from a Debug or JSON dump of the line) kept the secret; that form is read first, in the key=value value and in the Authorization quoted rule, which the error scrub shares.
Instead of one more case per example, a matrix test builds the inputs from src/shared/redaction-matrix.json in both languages: 27 key forms x 3 separators x 4 value forms, each field as JSON, as JSON inside a JSON string and Debug-escaped, and 4 Authorization schemes in 7 wrappings. The secret never survives, the key does, and scrubbing twice changes nothing; the lines that are not secrets (nextToken=abc, tokens: 3, AuthorizationHeaderMalformed) are pinned. The error scrub runs the Authorization half.
The probes also found a quadratic scan that was already there: the email rule read a run of address characters from every start position, so 200 KB of hex or base64url without an "@" took minutes in the panel. The local part is at most 64 characters, the RFC 5321 limit, in both tables, and a test reads such a run in linear time.

The prefix before a secret name was bounded at three words and anchored at a word boundary, so prod_db_admin_user_password=hunter2, with four words before the name, matched no rule and kept its value. The bound is eight words of at most 24 characters in both tables, still bounded on purpose: '-' is not a word character, so an unbounded prefix would start a match after every hyphen and cost a quadratic scan on a long kebab run, the class of the email rule fixed before. The comment says so.
The matrix gains three key forms (four and eight snake words before the name, and a kebab one with four words) and one line of fourteen words without a secret name that stays as it is; the red run against the old bound fails on prod_db_admin_user_password. A test reads kebab and snake runs of 200 to 300 KB that hold no secret name, and runs holding the name without a separator after it, in linear time.

Redact JSON-string values that contain backslashes.
If a nested JSON Authorization value contains a literal backslash, this rule stops at its encoded backslashes. For example, a serialized Digest value with username="a\\b", response="S3cretVal42" can leave S3cretVal42 in the output. The later Authorization rules do not match the escaped key. The secret-field rule at Line 81 has the same value-matching gap. Extend both rules to consume encoded backslashes without crossing the closing escaped quote. Apply the equivalent fix to the Rust scrubber and add a shared case with a backslash before the secret.

A value whose quotes are escaped (JSON inside a JSON string, a Debug dump of a line) ended at its first doubled backslash: its body knew only the escaped quote. {"payload":"{\"authorization\":\"Digest username=\\\"a\\\\b\\\", response=\\\"S3cretVal42\\\"\"}"} kept the response, and so did \"password\":\"a\\\\b...\", password=\"a\\\\b ...\" and authorization=\"...\".
One shared body now reads such a value up to its closing quote: a doubled backslash takes the next character with it, so an escaped quote or an escaped backslash does not end the value, any other lone backslash is one character, and the lone backslash-quote still ends it. It is escaped_body! in authorization_redaction.rs and ESCAPED_BODY in the frontend table, and the four rules that read an escaped value use it on both sides: the Authorization JSON-in-string rule, the escaped alternative of the Authorization quoted rule, the escaped alternative of the secret value, and the secret-field JSON-in-string rule. The error scrub gets it through the shared constants.
The matrix gains values (the secret alone and after a backslash) looped in the TypeScript test and in the Rust builder, and a digest credential with a backslash; two shared cases pin a digest and a secret field after a backslash inside a JSON string. Against the previous rules 152 of the 995 matrix probes and both cases fail; with the shared body all pass, and a run of 300000 backslashes is read in about 3 ms.

@coderabbitai the outside-diff Major of review 5645880248 (an escaped value ended at its first doubled backslash) is fixed in d7d01a2: one shared body, escaped_body! in authorization_redaction.rs and ESCAPED_BODY in the frontend table, reads such a value up to its closing quote, where a doubled backslash takes the next character with it so an escaped quote or an escaped backslash does not end the value. It is used in all four rules that read an escaped value, on both sides: the Authorization JSON-in-string rule, the escaped alternative of the Authorization quoted rule, the escaped alternative of the secret value, and the secret-field JSON-in-string rule; the error scrub gets it through the shared constants. The matrix gains values (the secret alone and after a backslash) and a digest credential with a backslash, and two shared cases pin a digest and a secret field after a backslash inside a JSON string; against the previous rules 152 of the 995 matrix probes and both cases fail.
@axpnet I inspected d7d01a2ba. The change addresses the reported early termination at a doubled backslash.
escaped_body! and ESCAPED_BODY contain the same pattern.
All four escaped-value rules use that shared body in Rust and TypeScript.
ai::sanitize_error_message receives the Authorization fix through the shared constants.
The matrix now includes secrets after a backslash and a Digest credential with a backslash. The two shared cases cover the reported JSON-in-string leaks.
This was a source inspection only. I did not run the tests or independently reproduce the reported 152 failures among 995 probes.

The English key is at the requested path.
App.tsx calls t('openRequest.folderBusyTitle') and t('openRequest.folderBusy', ...). The i18n context resolves t against each locale’s translations object, so translations.openRequest is the correct JSON path. No move is needed.

A final refusal of a whole native bulk in aeroftp_upload_many was recorded raw in the error of every item, while a failure of one item is sanitized right below it. The MCP backend sanitizes inside, but the AeroAgent and the CLI agent adapters hand the refusal over as e.to_string(), so a provider that reflects the request in its refusal put an Authorization header and the body behind the first line into every result the model reads. It goes through sanitize_api_error once, before the loop; the retry predicate still reads the raw text.
The existing final-refusal test now refuses with a credential in parentheses and a second line of reflected HTML, and asserts for all three results that "read-only share" stays and both the credential and the second line go. It fails without the change.
