fix(playerbots): retain action evidence and quest progress - #25
Conversation
📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughThe change adds durable playerbot action observations, operator-gated fixture reducers, quest-credit tracking, and goal-loop integration. It also adds a seeded action fixture, documentation, and CI validation against pinned Rust, SpacetimeDB, and LyraCore revisions. ChangesPlayerbot action observation flow
Priority: ➖ Normal — Schedule the playerbot action and quest-progress change because it adds persistent observations, goal integration, and durable fixture coverage across the package. Estimated code review effort: 4 (Complex) | ~45 minutes Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to Re-running the durable action fixture can fail or retain duplicate quest offers, reducing fixture reliability until the staged rows are cleared. Independent agent review covered the paired core and Package changes for PB-001. GPT-5.6 Sol reviewed standards; GPT-6 Astra reviewed the Spec. The orchestrator checked the final comment and CI-pin deltas through core StandardsThe review recorded three findings:
Retaining SpecNo confirmed Spec findings. The change covers typed action outcomes, retained timed casts, movement evidence, atomic quest interactions, and attack acceptance without false quest progress. Its provenance distinguishes seeded content and synthetic navigation from unavailable imported inputs. The extraction comparison explains the Rust choice. This is source review by agents, not a human schema review or a claim of release acceptance. Final integration still requires the remaining checks and core-first merge order. Package CI must return to Standards: three findings, two resolved prose defects and one accepted nonblocking judgment. Spec: zero confirmed findings. |

Bots could restart timed casts and clear a quest stall after an attack that never hit. The Package also lost route evidence and caught quest refusals without a durable outcome.
Retain typed core outcomes in a bounded observation table, keep pending cast ownership across decisions, and update quest progress only from observed credit or a successful quest interaction. The nullable credit baseline preserves existing stalls during migration. Add a private durable fixture and CI that run the actual Package against core main. The shared operations landed in core PR #482.
Validation: all 16 action fixtures pass locally and in CI. The collection union also passes 1,621 Module unit tests, 1,622 with debug reducers, two personality cases, and 14 related core durable regressions. Offline generation confirms the Package schema. Each fixture records clean tested source heads, Package and Module content identities, and seeded/synthetic input provenance; imported client geometry is unavailable. Channels are explicitly unsupported, and the Actor API still bypasses spellbook admission.
Schema review required by
docs/danger-zones.md: newpkg_playerbots_action, plus end-appendedpkg_playerbots_goal.quest_credit: Option<u64>with a null default. Observations are bounded per Character/action kind, deleted with the Character, and deliberately not transported. The fixture verifies bounded writes, deletion, and an existing stalled goal's initial credit baseline. It does not claim an old-Wasm upgrade test. The reviewed fixture reset also passes repeated acceptance and turn-in staging, including stale movement/engagement cleanup and exactly two quest-role relations. All 16 fixtures pass in CI on that follow-up.
