fix(actor): preserve action outcomes for bot requests - #482
Conversation
📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughThe change adds typed action outcomes, scheduled-cast lifecycle hooks, atomic item exchanges, structured navigation results, route evidence, and integration tests. It also updates package documentation, glossary entries, compatibility scans, and durable test filtering. ChangesAction outcomes and execution evidence
Priority: ➖ Normal — Schedule the core action-handling change because it spans casting, combat, quests, inventory exchanges, and navigation outcomes. Estimated code review effort: 5 (Critical) | ~90 minutes Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to The new action-outcome integration paths have no enforced CI execution, so regressions could merge undetected. Add dedicated coverage or remove the skip before merging. Sequence Diagram(s)sequenceDiagram

Independent agent review covered the paired core and Package changes for PB-001. GPT-5.6 Sol reviewed standards; GPT-6 Astra reviewed the Spec. The orchestrator checked the final comment and CI-pin deltas through core StandardsThe review recorded three findings:
Retaining SpecNo confirmed Spec findings. The change covers typed action outcomes, retained timed casts, movement evidence, atomic quest interactions, and attack acceptance without false quest progress. Its provenance distinguishes seeded content and synthetic navigation from unavailable imported inputs. The extraction comparison explains the Rust choice. This is source review by agents, not a human schema review or a claim of release acceptance. Final integration still requires the remaining checks and core-first merge order. Package CI must return to Standards: three findings, two resolved prose defects and one accepted nonblocking judgment. Spec: zero confirmed findings. |

Bot casts bypassed cast-time scheduling, navigation discarded route status, and caught quest refusals could consume items or grant partial rewards.
Return cast identity and typed Refusals from the owning operations. Bot requests retain a pending cast; completion and cancellation report its identity. Navigation exposes route, clipping, and consulted-cell evidence while preserving creature routing. Quest turn-in plans the complete item exchange before writes. Dead melee and ranged attackers are now refused, and item uniqueness limits include bank holdings and rewards in the same exchange.
The dependent playerbots change records these outcomes and stops treating attack acceptance as quest progress. Its private Standalone fixture uses actual Module and Package code, pinned source identities, core seeds, and explicitly synthetic navigation. It does not claim imported-world or client coverage.
Validation: the collection union passed 1,621 Module unit tests, 1,622 with debug reducers, and 32 durable cases: 16 action fixtures, two personality cases, 12 item identity cases, existing cast replacement, and quest reward choice. Shared navigation passed 34 tests. CI passes clippy, formatting, workspace tests, native build, and Wasm build; the full default durable job also passes. Offline default schema generation matches all 995 committed Gateway binding files with the Package uninstalled. The core default schema has no new table or column; the dependent Package schema needs the human review required by
docs/danger-zones.md.The reviewed fixture reset also passes repeated acceptance and turn-in staging, including stale movement/engagement cleanup and exactly two quest-role relations. All final core checks and the paired Package fixture job pass on that follow-up.
