644-644: 🩺 Stability & Availability | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winOne unhealthy Shard aborts reconciliation and discards the failures already recorded.
Line 644 propagates with
?. Every other failure in this function is tolerated: Line 633 counts a per-character cleanup failure and continues, and Line 647 does the same for a mirror failure.shard.party_group_ids()is health-gated onCoordinator, so one Shard with an unhealthy subscription returnsErrhere and returns immediately. Two consequences follow. First,
failuresandlast_erroraccumulated from the character loop at Lines 632-640 are discarded, so the returned error does not report the cleanup attempts that were already deferred. Second, the mirror pass at Lines 646-652 does not run at all, so groups whose ids came from realm-core and from the healthy Shards are not repaired in this cycle. The worker retries, so this is self-healing rather than a stuck state. Accumulate the read failure like the other two loops so a single unhealthy Shard does not cancel the work that can still be done.

Addressed the two current-head party cleanup findings in
The new regressions pass with all 53 party tests. The deleted-Character filter passes 8 tests with its private durable case ignored by the existing toolchain gate. Strict all-target/all-feature Gateway clippy, fmt, and diff-check also pass. @coderabbitai review |

A Character deleted from a World Shard can remain in Realm-core party membership and surviving World Shard mirrors. A Transfer can resemble a deletion while another Gateway still waits for the destination update.
Move deletion cleanup off Coordinator callbacks and confirm Character absence with server-acknowledged subscriptions on every healthy World Shard. Cleanup now retries Realm-core leave and mirror repair, reconciles after startup or reconnect, preserves pending loot ordering, and treats repeated cleanup as harmless. A private two-Coordinator test delays the observer's destination update during a real Transfer, proves membership remains, then deletes the destination Character and observes automatic Realm-core and mirror cleanup.
