Intro Screen

intro screen

  • On the top of the screen you have three icons. The two flags to the left allows you to change language at any time. The gear on the right take you to the settings page.
  • The slowly blinking two lines just below the title give you status updates. The lower of the two allways show Internet connection status.
  • The three buttons allow you to connect your device to
    1. Ordinary Bluetooth device, previously paired (Android only). After clicking this, select your device from the list to connect.
    2. Bluetooth Low Energy (Bluetooth LE) device. After clicking this, select your device from the list to connect.
    3. Continue to loading and running a Processing sketch without connecting to Bluetooth.

Settings

settings
There are currently three main settings that may be altered. Presented in chronological order, they are:

  • Processing Source URL:
    • URL base: The beginning of the web address for your Processing sketch.
    • URL end: The end of the web address for your Processing sketch (typically .pde).
When building the URL for the sketch, the app will take the literal content for these fields and combine them with user input given at the load stage to get the complete address.
  • Processing Library Location: If you wish to include a Processing library in you sketch, write the complete address for it in this field. Useful things that could be in such a library file can be classes for buttons or any other code you frequently use.
  • BTLE Service: Serial communication through Bluetooth Low Energy can be done through different services. We have included two services that we are aware exists:
    • Default service: The service that is by default used by HM-10 devices.
    • Nordic Semiconductor service: The service that Nordic Semiconductor use for their devices serial communication.

Settings will be stored when you change the content of any field.

Load Sketch

load sketch
The load sketch screen is the final screen needing user input before your code is run. Description of behaviour:

  • Rerun last sketch: ONLY VISIBLE AFTER AT LEAST ONE SKETCH HAS BEEN RUN. This will rerun the exact code that was run the previous time you successfully ran a project. All files that were included then will be included now. No Internet connection is needed for this option.
  • Sketch ID: ONLY VISIBLE WHILE CONNECTED TO INTERNET. When clicking "Load Processing" this field will be read, and the address will be combined with base and end (found in settings) to form the entire address. The complete address will then be "base"+"id"+"end".
  • Include library file: ONLY VISIBLE WHILE CONNECTED TO INTERNET. Mark this if the library file (found in settings) should be included with your sketch.
  • Add a .pde file: ONLY VISIBLE WHILE CONNECTED TO INTERNET. Include an additional file in your project. The URL for this file will be built the same way as the main file, but AT THE MOMENT YOU ACCEPT THE FILE. This mean that you can have a different address for this file than the main file by changing settings before loading the sketch.
  • Load sketch: ONLY VISIBLE WHILE CONNECTED TO INTERNET. Will try to load all files you have defined to be loaded. Upon success, all files are cached and the sketch is run.
  • Back to start: Disconnects from Bluetooth device (if connected) and returns you to the intro screen.
