Fork-only CI commit:8431b68cef (chore(fork): run CI on GitHub-hosted runners) switches ci.yml and mobile-fingerprint-check.yml from Blacksmith runners to GitHub-hosted ones, because this fork has no Blacksmith. Drop or revert it before anything from this branch goes upstream.
Try-out branch for the issue-tracker stack (pingdotgg#19259 → pingdotgg#19274) merged with current main, plus two local fixes:
Duplicate issue tabs: opening an issue from a link (no host) now reuses the tab the issues list already opened. Covered by a test in rightPanelStore.test.ts.
Tracker filter disappearing: the "Filter by tracker" menu stays visible while a tracker is selected, so "All trackers" stays reachable.
Made with Claude Opus 5.5 in Claude Code (via T3 Code).
Issue tracking gets its own extension point beside source control so non-git
trackers slot in without posing as source-control hosts. This layer adds the
`@t3tools/issue-tracker-core` port and driver shape, the `issues.*` contracts
and RPCs, an `IssueService` that resolves a project's tracker from its git
remote and treats issues outside the project's own scope as read-only, and a
GitHub tracker over the existing `GitHubApi`.
Web UI, MCP tools, thread links, and the other trackers follow in later layers.

With Effect 4.0.4 and the ten issue RPCs, typing `toLayer` over the whole
WebSocket RPC group hits TypeScript's instantiation depth limit (TS2589,
only reported when a single checker sees ws.ts after the orchestration
runtime). The checker then gives up and types the handler layer's
requirements as `any`, which spreads through the route and server layers
into binCli.ts and the CLI tests.
The issue RPCs now form `WsIssuesRpcGroup`, implemented by their own
`toLayer`, and `WsRpcGroup` merges it with the rest. The wire surface,
authorization, and instrumentation are unchanged.

Clients need a way to read and write `issues.*` without probing an older
server, and a shared place for the atoms every client will build on. This
adds an `issues` environment capability (set by the server, surfaced as
`issuesSupportedAtom`) and `state/issues` with queries for list, detail,
templates and candidates, guarded commands for every write, a list-page
command for cursor continuations, and the pure merge helpers the web list
and comment pager use.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>
GitLab issues come through the same `glab api` the merge request reads use,
so one login per host serves both. Listing is GitLab's own REST issues
query paged by page number; the detail joins the issue, its notes (split
into comments and the system notes GitLab writes as events), label events,
closing and related merge requests, and award emoji read through one
GraphQL query shaped like the merge request one.

Work items belong to a project rather than a repository, so the git-host
binding scopes Azure projects to `organization/project` out of the remote
path, and every `az` call names the organization instead of detecting it.
Listing is a WIQL query paged by a changed-date/id keyset cursor; states are
the work item's own names mapped onto open and closed categories, with the
stock process states offered as targets.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Lists the issues of every connected environment's projects, grouped per
tracker account with that tracker's unavailable state and per-project
errors in place, filtered by state, involvement and tracker, searched
where the tracker can search and narrowed locally where it cannot, and
continued per tracker with "Load more". Selecting a row opens the issue
in the page's shared right panel, which reuses the pull-request panel's
presentation primitives: body, comments with older pages, events, linked
pull requests that open as peer tabs, labels, assignees and reactions.
Every write is offered only when the tracker capability, the viewer's
permission and the issue's writability all allow it. "New issue" files
through a template picker where the scope offers templates; close and
reopen carry a close reason where the tracker records one.
Reachable from the sidebar utility row and the command palette, both
gated on the `issues` capability. Mobile has no issue screen yet.

Forgejo issues go through `ForgejoCli.api`, which resolves the server, its
port and the login from the checkout's remote the way the pull request reads
do. Pages follow Forgejo's `Link` header as a page-number cursor; the
timeline supplies events and the pull requests that cite the issue.
Registers the GitLab, Azure DevOps and Forgejo drivers beside GitHub.
Bitbucket registers none: its issue tracker is retired.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>
A thread records the issues it works on the way it records pull requests: link, unlink,
and a server-written sync command carry a `ThreadIssueLink` on the thread projection with
the issue's display key, title, and state. `ThreadIssueService` owns the link calls and
refreshes snapshots when a link is made, when a turn ends, and when a thread with stale
links is opened; there is no sweep. `parseIssueUrl` reads GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps,
and Forgejo issue URLs and `IssueService.resolveUrl` maps one to the project that owns the
repository, or a read-only lender on the same host.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Adds the `issues` MCP capability and toolkit: list_issues, read_issue, create_issue,
comment_on_issue, set_issue_state, link_issue, unlink_issue, and list_thread_issues, each
one service call. Thread sessions and OAuth clients get the capability alongside
pull-requests. link_issue's description carries the linking guidance, so the shared runtime
instructions every provider receives stay unchanged.

Linked issues appear in the thread details beside its pull requests and open in the right
panel; issue URLs in the conversation open there too. The issue panel gets a link/unlink
control for the thread it is shown beside.

Linear is an issue tracker without a git host, so a project opts into it by binding one of its
teams in settings instead of being resolved from a remote. The new issue-tracker-linear package
talks to Linear's GraphQL API over the platform HttpClient with the personal API key the user
saved, and ships an issueTrackerDriver the registry picks up like the git hosts' drivers.
The core package gains the generic parts a standalone tracker needs: a descriptor (display name,
host, scope noun, credential label) so clients can draw any such tracker's connect flow without
knowing which one it is, a probeCredential method, and an IssueTrackerHost port the server
provides for the stored credential. IssueTrackerConnections stores one credential per tracker
kind in the secret store and keeps per-project bindings in a new issue_tracker_bindings table;
IssueService resolves a bound project to both its git host's tracker and the standalone one, so
a GitHub repository planned in Linear lists both.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…tings
Settings → Source control gains an Issue trackers section listing every standalone tracker the
server ships (today Linear), drawn from the server's descriptor rather than a per-tracker
component: connect with the tracker's credential, see which account it signs in as, disconnect,
and bind each of the environment's projects to one of the tracker's scopes or unbind it. Only
the icon is web-side per tracker.
Client mutations go through createEnvironmentRpcCommand under the settings:write grant, and the
command permission tests cover the two new guarded methods.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Linear's operations were hand-written strings decoded against hand-written
schemas, unlike GitHub and Expo, so a misspelled or renamed field only showed
up at runtime. They now live in LinearApi.graphql and are generated from the
schema Linear publishes with its SDK, like the other GraphQL clients.
Linear's filter inputs are recursive (and/or), which @effect/graphql-generator
4.0.5 refuses. A pnpm patch adds recursive input objects until the upstream
change is released, so the issue list's IssueFilter is typed too. CI and
check:changed verify the generated files like GitHub's and Expo's.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Opening an issue from a link reuses the tab the issues list already opened,
and the tracker filter menu stays visible while a tracker is selected so
"All trackers" can be chosen again.

Merge Risk: Low · up to 8431b
This branch adds issue-tracker support, and the remaining concerns are minor. Unchanged issue links get re-read from the tracker on every later thread visit, and a client-side snapshot refresh can briefly show the thread as recently active. Neither blocks merging, but both should be tracked. Remember to drop the fork-only CI runner commit before upstreaming.
Security architecture risk: Moderate · up to 8431b
Issue writes have meaningful authorization and ownership checks. However, replacing a Linear credential preserves existing project bindings without preserving their workspace identity. If the replacement credential reaches another workspace with matching team keys, subsequent comments or changes could target that workspace. This requires authorized credential replacement; it is not an established unauthenticated attack.
Retained concerns
Medium · security · inferred: Credential replacement can change the workspace behind existing project bindings. The connection operation probes and overwrites the shared credential but retains bindings containing only tracker kind and scope. If the replacement credential belongs to another workspace with the same team key, existing issue identifiers can resolve there, and the team check still succeeds. Later comments or updates may therefore reach a different workspace without explicit project rebinding. This is a conditional data-routing risk during authorized configuration changes, not a proven privilege escalation.
Security review details
Security Blast Radius
inferred — A credential change affects every project bound to that standalone tracker in the environment. Effective provider access is limited by the replacement credential's rights, and initiating replacement requires settings:write. The concern is therefore shared configuration and destination identity, rather than access by an unauthenticated caller.
Security Findings and Attack Paths
inferred — The remaining conditional path is credential replacement followed by use of a retained project scope and issue key. Matching team names across workspaces would satisfy the current scope check even though the destination workspace changed. The inspected evidence establishes this identity-binding weakness, but does not demonstrate an actual cross-workspace disclosure.
Trust Boundaries and Controls
observed — The WebSocket entrypoint authenticates the session and installs scope authorization. MCP issue writes additionally reject read-only clients, check a live caller, and require the issues capability. Linear rejects foreign-comment reactions before reaching mutation or reaction-listing calls; removal selects only the matching viewer-owned reaction. The routed public-API range is a test, not itself a production entrypoint.
Resilience and Maintainability Implications
observed — The client serializes connection and binding edits per environment, but credential removal and binding deletion are separate server operations. Linear validation and reaction mutation also use separate requests, each resolving the current stored credential. These mechanisms do not establish operation-wide identity stability or provider retry safety; those remain bounded coverage gaps rather than verified additional vulnerabilities.
Hardening Proposals
proposed — Persist stable provider workspace and team identities alongside bindings. Preserve bindings for verified same-workspace key rotation, but require explicit rebinding when workspace identity changes. Capture a credential generation for each multi-request mutation so validation and mutation cannot silently use different authorities.

Read the bindings table once per listing, not once per project.
listProjects calls resolveProjectTracker for every project shell. Each call runs bindings.list, which is a full SELECT on issue_tracker_bindings. One issues.list call therefore runs N identical queries, and so does each requireProject call through listProjects. Read the map once in listProjects and pass it to resolveStandaloneBinding. This keeps the "applies without a restart" behavior and removes the per-project query.
Effect.orElseSucceed(() => null) also hides a failed read. When the read fails, the bound Linear scope drops out of the listing with no error. Consider logging the failure.

The 5-minute staleness throttle stops working after the first sync, so thread visits keep re-reading the tracker.
When the fresh snapshot matches the stored one, syncLink returns at Line 117 and dispatches nothing. syncedAt therefore never advances. After 5 minutes, isStale returns true for that link permanently.
Every later thread.visited event (Line 212) and every refresh({ staleOnly: true }) then calls issues.detail again for each unchanged link. This costs a tracker read per visit and can consume tracker rate limits. It also contradicts the module comment, which says a refresh happens when the snapshot "has gone stale".
Dispatching a no-op sync on every check would emit thread.issue-synced events. Those events also trigger the awareness relay and the settlement sweep. Instead, record the last check time in memory and use it in the stale check.

Azure DevOps listing test: done in baaeca0, together with the decode fix.
IssueService bindings read per project: skipping for now. It's a local SQLite read, so the cost is small. The cleanup belongs with the stack owner's refactor rather than this branch.
ThreadIssueService staleness throttle: valid. An unchanged snapshot never moves syncedAt forward, so after 5 minutes every visit reads the tracker again. I'm leaving it out of this PR because ThreadIssueService has no test harness yet, and the fix needs one. It's tracked as a follow-up.
Avoid a full T3Viewer query on every detail, comments page, and un-react.
viewerId runs linear.viewer() each time it is yielded. T3Viewer also selects teams(first: 250). These calls use it:
getIssue.
getComments.
setReaction when it removes a reaction.
Each call therefore sends a second query that reads up to 250 teams only to get one id. Linear rate-limits by query complexity, so this spends budget on every detail open and comment page.
Add a small T3ViewerId operation that selects only viewer { id }. You can also cache the id per stored token. Keep T3Viewer for probeCredential.
As per coding guidelines: "Make sure all changes are considerate of performance impact."

When thread.issue-link.sync emits thread.issue-synced, the server preserves the thread’s updatedAt. This client branch instead sets projection updatedAt to the event time. Handle this event like the server projection does, using event.payload.updatedAt, so a snapshot refresh does not appear as new thread activity.

Update the `thread.issue-synced` case in the projection to set `updatedAt` from
`event.payload.updatedAt` rather than the event time, matching the server
projection and keeping snapshot refreshes from changing thread activity time.

Not changing this here. The client projection treats thread.pull-request-synced the same way on main, and thread.issue-synced follows that pattern. If the client should keep payload.updatedAt, both events should change together, upstream, rather than issues alone on this branch.

@xgooz3x Understood. The supplied code handles both sync events through the same branch. Any timestamp change should assess both events together upstream, not change issues alone here.
I accept deferring this concern. Would you like me to open a follow-up issue for both events?
- Forgejo resolves labels before any write, so an unknown label leaves the issue untouched.
- A row opening an issue reuses the tab a link opened, as well as the other way round.
- Linking and unlinking surface a failed thread read instead of reporting not linked.
- Linear reads the viewer id with a query that skips the 250 teams.

Linear viewer nitpick: fixed in 24a86f8. A new T3ViewerId query selects only viewer { id }, and the issue reads and getViewer use it. probeCredential still uses T3Viewer.

Validate the comment's parent issue before changing its reaction.
requireTeamIssue validates only the named issue and team. When subjectId is present, the adapter sends only that ID to Linear's comment reaction operations. Linear's ReactionCreateInput associates the reaction with the supplied comment and receives no named issue ID to compare. A valid comment from another issue can therefore be reacted to or have the viewer's reaction removed. Resolve the comment's parent issue and compare it with issue.id before either operation.

Outside-diff finding (Linear setReaction): fixed in 36af969. When subjectId is set, a new T3CommentIssue query looks up the comment's issue, and the reaction is refused as not-found unless it matches the named issue. This applies to both adding and removing. The regression test failed before the fix.
Add a removal case for the comment parent check in setReaction.
The new test only calls setReaction with reacted: true. In the implementation, the parent-issue check runs before the input.reacted branch, so the check covers removal as well as creation. No test in the searched test files exercises removal with a comment from another issue. A change that applies the check only to additions would still pass this test.
Add a case with reacted: false and a subjectId on a comment that belongs to a different issue. Assert reason is "not-found", and assert that no reaction listing or delete call runs. Keep a matching own-comment removal case so the removal path is still exercised.

Removal nitpick: done in dde3de0. The test now removes a reaction on another issue's comment and gets not-found without listing the comment's reactions. It also removes one on the issue's own comment and checks the delete call goes out.
