What happened?
The transcription with "apple speech on device" only inserts (or copies) the last spoken words after a pause. Any previous spoken sentences before a pause are ignored.
I tried to change or disable all possible settings to detect if it was coming from the transcription engine or not. So far, it always happens, whatever setting you set.
notes:
- whisper base mode works without losing words.
- on device helpers "voice activation detection" doesn't download so I couldn't test that.
- we are not using AI enhancements: but Apple intelligence (fully enabled with permissions for your app) is not detected by pindrop.
- Apple intelligence dictation and any other apple intelligence feature works perfectly on my mac.
Expected Behavior
Transcription of all the spoken text, no just the last sentence (or spoken words) after a small pause.
Steps to Reproduce
Just choose apple intelligence for local transcription. It happens with whatever other setting you choose.
