[πŸ›Bug]: libayatana-appindicator deprecation warning appears on Linux startupΒ #89

Description

@Linming-XHL

✨ What You Expected

When launching BongoCat on Linux, I expect the application to start without deprecation warnings, or to use the maintained libayatana-appindicator-glib backend for the system tray icon.

❓ What Actually Happened

When launching BongoCat from a terminal, the following warning is printed:

(bongocat:5188): libayatana-appindicator-WARNING **: 08:20:13.155: libayatana-appindicator is deprecated. Please use libayatana-appindicator-glib in newly written code.

BongoCat still runs and the tray icon appears to work, but the warning is noisy and indicates the app is linked against a deprecated library. This may become a compatibility issue in the future if libayatana-appindicator is removed or no longer packaged by distributions.

πŸ“ Steps to Reproduce the Issue

  1. Use the latest version of BongoCat on Linux.
  2. Launch BongoCat from a terminal.
  3. Observe the terminal output during startup.
  4. The libayatana-appindicator is deprecated warning appears immediately.

πŸ“Œ Platform

Linux - KDE Plasma

βœ… Final Checklist

  • ⚑ I've confirmed I'm using the latest version, not an older one.
  • πŸ“‹ I've checked the FAQ and known issues list to confirm this is a new bug.
