install system-wide

After installing on Ubuntu 22.04 using dpkg-buildpackage -j4 --no-sign (as suggested in the documentation), grive was only installed locally in the build directory. I had to make an additional sudo make install from the build directory to have it installed system-wide. Assuming (guessing) this would apply to other distributions as well, I thus suggest the documentation to be updated with:

dpkg-buildpackage -j4 --no-sign
cd build
sudo make install

dpkg-buildpackage -j4 --no-sign will create deb packages in the parent directory. So it should be followed by sudo dpkg ../grive*.deb (there are also debug packages created, so make sure you install only proper grive package!).

Basically never run sudo make install, it will install global files which are outside the package manager, which might result in inconsistencies.
