Adds the optional dstu4145 feature: verification of DSTU 4145 signatures with the GOST 34.311 and DSTU 7564-256 digests, in XML signatures, X.509 paths and CMS SignedData.
The methods stay denied until policy names them, and they never sign.
Changes
XML identifiers follow the test signatures of the Central Certification Authority of Ukraine, because no registry assigns them; the 384 and 512-bit DSTU 7564 methods have no published example and stay unknown.
The digest URIs cannot name a substitution table, so GOST 34.311 means table number one and a key stating another is refused.
The X.509 layer removes the OCTET STRING that a certificate adds around the signature; SignerInfo carries the same octets directly, so the provider always receives them bare.
CMS binds digestAlgorithm to the digest the signature method names.
Certificate and CMS use needs certificate_signature_algorithms, as for post-quantum methods.
The feature joins the feature profiles and the no_std and WebAssembly builds in CI.
Testing
Tests run published signatures, unchanged, from the Central Certification Authority: XAdES, CAdES and embedded RFC 3161 tokens, with a certificate path to the published root and forged and refused cases. Tests, lints, formatting, the feature profile and the capability ledgers pass on macOS; CI covers Linux and Windows.
Added opt-in verification of Ukrainian DSTU 4145 signatures using GOST 34.311 and DSTU 7564-256 digests across XML signatures, CMS, and X.509 certificate chains.
Verification requires explicit policy permission for the applicable algorithms; signing is not supported.
Documentation
Documented the feature’s supported algorithms, verification limits, and policy requirements.
- Add the dstu4145 feature: DSTU 4145 with GOST 34.311 and DSTU 7564-256,
in XML signatures, X.509 paths and CMS SignedData
- Take the XML identifiers from the test signatures of the Central
Certification Authority of Ukraine, which no registry assigns
- Keep the methods denied until policy names them, refuse a key under
another substitution table, and never sign
- Unwrap the OCTET STRING of a certificate signature at the X.509 layer,
because SignerInfo carries the same octets directly
- Bind digestAlgorithm to the digest the signature method names
- Build the feature without std in CI

Walkthrough
The PR adds optional, verification-only support for DSTU 4145 signatures using GOST 34.311 and DSTU 7564-256 digests. It connects the algorithms to XML signatures, X.509 certificate signatures, and CMS verification, and adds policy checks, tests, fixtures, and feature-build checks.
The new dstu4145 feature enables verification support and registers the GOST 34.311 and DSTU 7564-256 digest and signature identifiers. The documentation describes supported scope and policy requirements.
Digest and signature verification src/xmldsig/dstu4145.rs, src/xmldsig/mod.rs, src/provider.rs, src/provider/aws_lc.rs, src/provider/key_establishment/bit_hash.rs, src/provider/rsa_pss.rs
The DSTU module implements digest operations, key preparation, and signature verification. Provider paths dispatch supported digests and DSTU 4145 X.509 signatures.
XML and X.509 verification paths recognize DSTU 4145 algorithms and validate relevant keys and signature encodings. CMS checks digest consistency. Default certificate-signature policy rejects DSTU 4145 unless explicitly permitted.
Interoperability tests and feature checks tests/dstu4145_cms.rs, tests/dstu4145_interop.rs, tests/fixtures/xmldsig/dstu4145/*, tests/fixtures_smoke.rs, .github/workflows/ci.yml
Published fixtures support tests for XML, CMS, timestamps, and certificate chains, including altered signatures and policy restrictions. CI adds alloc-only checks for the feature combination.
The dedicated DSTU feature check misses its interoperability tests. Add the test target to improve regression coverage; the gap does not otherwise block merging.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
The changes stay within the scope of #358 and its PR objectives.
Changes that directly implement #358:
Feature and dependency wiring: Cargo.toml adds dstu4145, structured-dstu4145 and once_cell.
Algorithm identities and URIs: digest.rs, parse.rs, modern.rs, signature.rs, verify.rs.
Key validation and verification: keys.rs, src/xmldsig/dstu4145.rs.
Provider wiring: provider.rs, rsa_pss.rs, bit_hash.rs, aws_lc.rs. These route DSTU digests and refuse unsupported digest use.
Permission gating: policy.rs and the certificate_signature_algorithms requirement. The issue states that operation policy decides whether a document may use these methods.
Tests and fixtures: tests/dstu4145_interop.rs, tests/dstu4145_cms.rs, the published fixtures, PROVENANCE.txt, and the fixture count update.
Build and documentation: CI, feature-profile tables, docs/xmldsig.md, docs/features.md, README.md.
X.509 and CMS paths (pkix.rs, x509.rs, cms.rs) are not named in #358. They are not unrelated. They use the same DSTU 4145 verifier and the same digest identities. The issue asks for keys read from X.509 certificates. The PR objectives state that X.509 and CMS support is part of this PR. Their scope is consistent with the issue.
The xmlsec1 tool changes (tools/xmlsec1/Cargo.toml, tools/xmlsec1/src/commands/tests.rs) only enable the feature and extend a compatibility test. They do not add a new capability.
No change adds signing or key generation. The summary states that signing is not provided.
The excluded cades-content.bin fixture affects only CAdES test inputs. It does not change this scope judgment.

Resolution
Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.
Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
Directly linked issue #358 has active coding requirements. Evidence from the whole-PR summary and PR description supports most of them:
URI mapping [#358]: digest.rs maps the GOST 34.311 and DSTU 7564-256 XML URIs. parse.rs maps the two DSTU 4145 signature URIs. Unknown variants are unsupported. The DSTU 7564-384 and -512 variants stay unknown.
Key handling [#358]: keys.rs validates DSTU 4145 SPKIs through the shared session. dstu4145.rs checks named-curve basis, refuses other DKE tables and unsupported custom domains, and uses the identifier byte order for ASN.1-identified verification and the key profile byte order for direct verification.
Canonical bytes and digest [#358]: hash_uses.rs maps DSTU 4145 to the digest path. The verifier receives prehashed data.
End-to-end verification [#358]: tests/dstu4145_interop.rs and tests/dstu4145_cms.rs use published XAdES, CAdES and timestamp fixtures. The fixtures include GOST and Kupyna variants. The interop tests cover tampering, signed-content changes, reference digests, identifier mappings and substitution tables.
Feature gating [#358]: the code is gated by dstu4145. The summary shows default and alloc-only paths are gated. CI adds an alloc-only Clippy job and a wasm check.
Unresolved gaps:
Acceptance requires wrong keys to fail with a typed result. The summary does not name a wrong-key test or its asserted error. Absence in the summary does not prove absence in the tests.
Acceptance requires alias URIs to fail with a typed result. The summary names identifier-mapping tests but does not state that alias URIs assert a typed failure.
No CI run result for the default and alloc-only builds is in the evidence. The PR states that tests pass on macOS and CI covers Linux and Windows.
tests/fixtures/xmldsig/dstu4145/cades-content.bin is excluded by !**/*.bin. Its content is not reviewed. It supports CAdES detached tests, which are outside the XML acceptance criteria. This does not change the XML verdict.
Resolution
Provide evidence that the verification tests assert typed failures for (a) a wrong public key on a published signature and (b) an alias URI. Name the test functions and the expected error variants, or confirm them from tests/dstu4145_interop.rs. Provide CI results for the default and alloc-only builds with the feature disabled, or confirm the default-build path is unchanged.

The public identifier can pair the method with any digest. The provider
advertised such a pair and then panicked while hashing; it now reports it
as unsupported. A regression test runs the pair against a valid key.
Add the dstu4145_interop test target to the dstu4145 profile.
The profile currently runs only the library and rust_api tests. It does not run tests/dstu4145_interop.rs, which contains the feature-specific interoperability tests.
Add or update a planner assertion in tools/xml-sec-tools/src/check_features/tests.rs for the resulting test command.

The hand-written profile loop in CI left the profile out, so it never ran.
It also ran the signing facade test, which a verification-only feature has
no use for, and skipped the tests over the published signatures.
