This is an ALPHA build. It is a long way from a release.

Things are missing, things are broken, and things will change without warning.
Run it against a copy of your library, not your only copy.

Read the Known issues before you start.

Downloads

  • StreamItServer-Setup-0.7.0.exe — install on the machine holding your media
  • StreamIt-Setup-0.7.0.exe — install on anything you want to watch from

Installing over an existing version upgrades it in place and keeps your
libraries, keys and settings.

What is new

Emulation is installable. Each console lists the cores that run it with an
Install button; installing downloads that core from the libretro project and
puts it in place. No emulator core, ROM, BIOS or firmware ships with this
project, and games are never downloaded for you.

Local game library. Turn it on in Settings and the games your PC already
has are listed alongside your ROMs and launched through their own storefront.
Steam is supported today, including libraries on other drives.

The client finds your server again. The server now advertises only
addresses that are actually reachable, the client checks a candidate before
storing it, and a saved address that stops answering sends you back to the
server list instead of failing forever.

Duplicate library entries are fixed. The scanner could create several rows
for one file; a migration removes the duplicates and prevents new ones.
Rescan after upgrading.

Also: genre grouping on the home screen, games grouped by genre and system,
a per-title actions menu on the item header, better matching for scene-named
files, box art for ROMs whose filenames do not match the preservation
catalogues, and controller support over USB and Bluetooth including wheels and
flight controllers.

Known to be broken

  • Over-under (OU / Half-OU) 3D files do not play; side-by-side does
  • Per-episode metadata does not download
  • Ratings do not appear yet
  • Game metadata needs IGDB credentials (a Twitch application)
  • Windows only in practice; Linux and macOS are not yet tested
