DEFAULT_SIM_BOUNDS used new Date() which produces local-timezone timestamps. For UTC+8 browsers this was 8h behind the UTC midnight the backend queries from, causing a gap from 0:00-8:00 on Oct 1 and a spurious futurePoints line in the first 6 hours of Jan 1 2018. Switch to Date.UTC() so bounds always match the backend's UTC data range exactly.
Resets simNow to the beginning of the simulation range and stops playback whenever a user signs in, so every session starts from a clean state.
