How? Add content of "custom_components/vwid" .....

Sorry. New Home Assistant user here.

How do I do this. "Add content of "custom_components/vwid" in your Home Assistant configuration folder.
I've got SSH access, and HACS installed, and have access to: root/config/custom_components (where other scripts live)

Thank you for any help with this.

To be honest I've never used HACS as I'm running HA in a docker container myself. The way I would do it without HACS (if your config really is in /root) is:
(From e.g. your home folder:)
sudo apt install git
git clone https://github.com/skagmo/ha_vwid.git
cd ha_vwid/custom_components
sudo cp -r vwid /root/config/custom_components/

Try using

https://download-directory.github.io/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgithub.com%2Fmitch-dc%2Fvolkswagen_we_connect_id%2Ftree%2Fmain%2Fcustom_components%2Fvolkswagen_we_connect_id

This website will download the correct directory as a zip, so you should be able to un-zip and then place it in the correct directory (using Samba)
