@ryanbr This PR adds a single audit doc and uses \closes #X\ to auto-close 25 verified-fixed issues on merge. I also identified 5 open PRs that are already implemented in main (#1587, #506, #531, #419, #90) — please close those manually since PRs can't auto-close other PRs. Full evidence is in the PR body and the audit doc.

Reviewed at 1d622a2, and I checked the claims against main rather than reading them. The audit found
real things, but enough of it is wrong that acting on it would destroy work, so I would not land this
as a document.

One entry is wrong in the direction that costs a contributor. PR 531 is listed as ready to retire,
with evidence personalizedHrZone in SettingsScreen.kt / Profile.swift. That symbol does not exist
anywhere in the tree. HRZones.swift in main says of itself that it is "the simpler, age-only %HRmax
zone model", Tanaka with a manual override, and that PR is a 42-line change to that exact file plus 48
lines of Profile.swift adding the thing that is missing. Issue 138, "Personalized HR Zones", remains
open. Retiring that branch on this line would discard unmerged work on a live issue.

Two entries contradict the document itself. Issue 652 sits in the ready-to-retire table AND in the
not-verified list at the bottom. And issues 557 and 922 are marked done with "0 remaining
uiString(...) + "English tail" concatenations", while 2041, listed as still outstanding two
paragraphs later, is titled "57 sentence tails are untranslated". Grepping main finds three of those
concatenations, DataSourcesScreen.kt:562 among them, which appends the English "not yet" to a
localized string. That is the bug 557 describes, still there.

The method is the root of it: the evidence checks whether a symbol exists, not whether the branch's
contribution is present.
For PR 506 the evidence is keyMetricIcon, which is not a symbol that
branch touches at all; it changes HeroVitalRow and TintedMetricIcon, and main has the first but not
the second. For PR 419 the repair genuinely is in main and wired up at AutomationsView.swift:413, but
the branch also carries BatteryNotifierAuthDecisionTests and a NotificationPresenter change, and
"the bug is gone" is not the same statement as "this branch adds nothing". A name in main proves the
area was worked on. It does not prove a branch is redundant, and that is the question a retirement
depends on.

One entry is a judgement call presented as a fact. Issue 1635 is called verified via
HelloSuppression. That is a stored flag which stops sending a handshake the strap never answers. It
does not make the strap bond, and the issue is titled "WHOOP 5/MG never bonds". The HCI capture there
shows the strap refusing SMP outright, so "Live HR not fully paired" is the designed end state rather
than a defect that was repaired. Retiring it as working-as-designed is defensible; calling it verified
is a different claim.

On the document itself, separately from its accuracy. A dated snapshot of issue state in docs/ is
stale the day after it lands, and this one is already internally inconsistent. The audit's value is in
the sweep, not in the artifact: comments on the issues themselves carry the same findings to the people
who need them and cannot go stale, because the tracker is the state. The filename and heading also say
2026-01 for work done in September.

Of the five branches, I verified 90 independently and have retired it: bottomBarAutoHide is in main
with its setting, its toggle, and the modifier applied in RootTabView. I have left 1587, 506, 419 and
531 alone. 531 in particular must stay. The other three need their diffs compared against main rather
than a symbol looked up, which is the work this document still represents rather than replaces.

Thanks for doing the sweep @evoveotech. The shortlist is genuinely useful as a worklist; it is the
word "verified" that it cannot support yet.

Retiring this, with the reasoning kept here so the work behind it is not lost.

The sweep itself is worth having. Of twelve entries I checked against main, nine name something that is
genuinely there, so most of the shortlist is a usable worklist and I will work from it rather than
redo it.

What cannot land is the word "verified", and the failures sit exactly where acting on them does damage.
PR 531 is listed as ready to retire on evidence, personalizedHrZone, that exists nowhere in the tree;
main's HRZones.swift calls itself "the simpler, age-only %HRmax zone model", that branch is the change
which adds what is missing, and issue 138 is still open. Issue 652 appears in both the done table and
the not-done list. Issues 557 and 922 are marked done as "0 remaining concatenations" while 2041, listed
as outstanding in the same document, is titled "57 sentence tails are untranslated", and three of those
concatenations are still in main, DataSourcesScreen.kt:562 among them.

One entry cites commit b3b68e1dc as its evidence. That hash resolves to nothing here, on main or any
other ref. The feature it points at genuinely is in main, so the conclusion happens to be right while
the evidence is not, which is the hardest failure to spot: it reads exactly like the correct entries.

The method underneath all of it is checking whether a symbol exists rather than whether a branch's
contribution is present. A name in main proves the area was worked on. PR 506's cited symbol is not one
that branch touches at all. PR 419's repair really is in main and wired up, yet the branch also carries
tests that are not.

I would keep the artifact out of docs/ regardless of accuracy. A dated snapshot of tracker state is
stale the day after it lands, this one already disagrees with itself, and the heading says 2026-01 for
work done in September. Comments on the issues themselves carry the same findings to the people who act
on them and cannot go stale, because the tracker is the state.

Of the five branches named, I checked 90 independently and have retired it. 1587, 506, 419 and 531 stay
open; 531 in particular, since retiring it would discard unmerged work on a live issue.

Thanks @evoveotech, genuinely. Auditing this many at once is unglamorous and nobody else was doing it.
