Add agent instructions functionality - #176
KyleFromNVIDIA wants to merge 11 commits into
Conversation
This functionality allows agents to see much more detailed instructions for fixing warnings, and is activated if verbose level >= 2. For now, just add agent instructions to `verify-hardcoded-version`, since it's the most prone to false positives and developer confusion. Also add a `write-tests` skill and move general testing guidelines from `add-or-modify-hook`. Issue: rapidsai#169

🟡 Minor · Handle the two-character indent when checking wrap length. · lint.py:503-506

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winHandle the two-character indent when checking wrap length.
When the first unformatted word has 78 or 79 characters, the length check fails while
lineis empty. The formatter then emits a blank" "line and an 80- or 81-character line. Handle the first word separately, or align the word-length check with the output indent.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

413-420: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winAssert that suppressed instruction callbacks are not evaluated.
The test uses a mock callback but does not check
first.called. An implementation could evaluate the callback whenverbose=Falseand still pass because its output is suppressed. Assert that the callback is not called when suppressed and is called once when verbose output is enabled.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

My original finding concerned assertions on overlong paths. Those assertions remain, but I already withdrew that finding because you clarified that such paths are outside expected usage. No further change is needed for that finding. I verified this by code inspection; I did not run tests. You are interacting with an AI system. |
