Revisiting this, I don't get this error now when having #define ENABLE_SSD1306 active.
The code does exist in both places, but now a non-issue??

It happened again, but I am unsure of the conditions to recreate.

Do you have a config that causes it?

Unfortunately it was one of the random configs I help fix, which is long gone. Hence why it's not something I can recreate. I think it was literally just disabling #define ENABLE_SSD1306 though that avoided the error.
I'll try to see what I can do.

Happening today. Config couldn't be simpler.. Confirmed errors appear with both V2 and V3 board selected in Arduino.
v4.6.0 plugin, Arduino V 1.8.19

todays quandry. only get already defined error on laptop. Yet, running the same Arduino version and plugin, opening the same Dropbox shared ProffieOS files. Sync complete, nothing different. weird.
