Metazine (from the Greek μετά, meta, meaning 'after' or 'beyond' - an adjective meaning 'more comprehensive' or 'transcending', and magazine - a periodical publication) is an experimental RSS/Atom feed client built as a Ruby on Rails app. It tries to present feed entries as articles of a unified online publication.

Metazine offers login through Mastodon OAuth. Logged in users can participate in discussions under articles. Comments are posted to the Mastodon Actor's outbox, making it possible to add, edit & delete Comments from both Metazine and Mastodon with the same Mastodon account.
The Instance Actor for the demo app can be found in Mastodon with the handle @press@metazine.pessi.info. Metazine federates Articles that have at least one Comment. Followers of the Instance Actor receive the posted articles and all the comments for all threads. Unfortunately, Announcing each comment will create some noise on your Mastodon feed, so it is recommended to mute Boosts from the Instance Actor!
On Desktop, articles can be listened to with a TTS service that runs in the browser. The TTS Model is different for Firefox and Chrome/Chromium. The audio quality on the Chrome model seems a bit better, but has the occasional glitch.
