Description
Parent: #3428 · Slot: 0.69.0, after T1.
Mechanism: the placeholder reuses a live type id as "nothing here", which is why #1789's panic read qtype=0 and #3368's message pointed at F32.
Fix: after T1, a gate that fails on any zero-length tensor-ref construction outside the Absent variant (both known sites: MoE skeleton, tied lm_head).
Falsifier: re-introduce byte_size: 0, num_elements: 0 in a scratch commit → gate RED; the pattern ships with a must-match / must-not-match case table.
Ĵ: 24 turns [A] — borrowed; estimate.sh aprender pools 0 of 47 ledger rows today, so there is no measured basis.
