Updates the requirements on sqlalchemy, sentence-transformers, pytest-benchmark, faker and coverage to permit the latest version.
Updates sqlalchemy to 2.0.52

Release notes

Sourced from sqlalchemy's releases.

2.0.52

Released: August 11, 2026

platform

  • [platform] [bug] Python 3.15 support has been added and tested, including minimal changes for full compatibility.

    References: #13477

orm

  • [orm] [bug] Fixed a result-column misalignment bug in ORM-enabled UPDATE statements where synchronize_session="fetch" is in use, either explicitly or because the statement uses constructs such as CTEs that implicitly select for it. Columns in rows returned by .returning() could be returned under incorrect keys (e.g. row[SomeClass.a] returning the value of a different column), a problem most likely to manifest under concurrent workloads. ORM DELETE statements were not affected.

    References: #13439

  • [orm] [bug] Fixed bug where a failed _orm.Session.bulk_insert_mappings(), _orm.Session.bulk_update_mappings() or _orm.Session.bulk_save_objects() call could leave the _orm.Session permanently in a "flushing" state, such as when the transaction could not be begun because a previous flush had left it needing a rollback. Unlike _orm.Session.flush(), the bulk methods set the internal flushing flag and began the transaction outside of the try/finally block that resets it, so that neither _orm.Session.rollback() nor _orm.Session.close() would clear it, and every subsequent flush would raise InvalidRequestError: Session is already flushing. Pull request courtesy Hamody We.

    References: #13485

  • [orm] [bug] Fixed issue where unpickling an ORM object that were loaded using loader options making use of wildcard tokens, such as _orm.load_only() or _orm.raiseload() with "*", would fail with KeyError or IndexError if the process doing the unpickling had not yet constructed a loader path making use of that same token. This would typically be observed when the object were unpickled in a separate process, such as with the spawn or forkserver multiprocessing start methods, the latter of which became the default on POSIX platforms as of Python 3.14. The internal collection of these tokens is now established up front, so that it is identical in every process.

Updates sentence-transformers to 6.0.0

Release notes

Sourced from sentence-transformers's releases.

v6.0.0 - MultiVectorEncoder for ColBERT & late interaction models, transformers v5, float32 scoring, faster training & encoding

This major release introduces Multi-Vector Embedding models, also known as late interaction or ColBERT-style models, as a fourth model type alongside SentenceTransformer, CrossEncoder, and SparseEncoder. Going forward, you'll be able to use Sentence Transformers for training, inferencing, and interpreting Multi-Vector Embedding models.

It also modernizes the dependency floors to transformers v5, fixes a class of silent scoring bugs caused by half precision, and speeds up both training and encoding.

Install this version with

# Training + Inference
pip install sentence-transformers[train]==6.0.0
Inference only, use one of:
pip install sentence-transformers==6.0.0
pip install sentence-transformers[onnx-gpu]==6.0.0
pip install sentence-transformers[onnx]==6.0.0
pip install sentence-transformers[openvino]==6.0.0
Multimodal dependencies (optional):
pip install sentence-transformers[image]==6.0.0
pip install sentence-transformers[audio]==6.0.0
pip install sentence-transformers[video]==6.0.0
Or combine as needed:
pip install sentence-transformers[train,onnx,image]==6.0.0

[!TIP] Our Multi-Vector (Late Interaction) Embedding Models with Sentence Transformers blogpost is an excellent place to learn about multi-vector models: loading the various checkpoint formats, encoding and scoring, plugging them into a search stack, running them on page images, and keeping the index affordable.

[!WARNING] This is a major release with breaking changes. Upgrading from v5.x to v6.0 may require code updates. The changes marked 🚨 below are the ones most likely to affect you, and the Migration Guide has the full list. If you run into issues when upgrading, feel free to open an issue.

MultiVectorEncoder: ColBERT-style late interaction models (#3794)

Sentence Transformers v6.0 introduces MultiVectorEncoder, for ColBERT-style late interaction retrieval. Where a regular embedding model compresses a whole text into one vector, a multi-vector model keeps one vector per token and scores query against document with the MaxSim operator. That preserves token-level matching information that a single vector has to average away, which usually means stronger retrieval at the cost of a bigger index. It is also the state of the art for visual document retrieval, where a text query is matched against page images directly, with no OCR step in between.

Any PyLate checkpoint and any Stanford-NLP ColBERT checkpoint loads straight into it, and colpali-engine models for visual document retrieval work too, through the same familiar API you already use for dense, sparse, and reranker models.

from sentence_transformers import MultiVectorEncoder
Download from the 🤗 Hub
model = MultiVectorEncoder("lightonai/LateOn")
query_embeddings = model.encode_query(["Which planet is known as the Red Planet?"])
document_embeddings = model.encode_document([
"Venus is often called Earth's twin because of its similar size and proximity.",
"Mars, known for its reddish appearance, is often referred to as the Red Planet.",
"Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system, has a prominent red spot.",
"Saturn, famous for its rings, is sometimes mistaken for the Red Planet.",
</tr></table>

v5.3.0 (2026-08-23)

  • Added --benchmark-precision and --benchmark-confidence: instead of a fixed number of rounds, stop once the mean's relative margin of error falls below the given fraction. Contributed by Aarni Koskela in [#318](https://github.com/ionelmc/pytest-benchmark/issues/318) <https://github.com/ionelmc/pytest-benchmark/pull/318>_.
  • Added compare --between mode. Example: pytest-benchmark compare --between=min 0001 0002. Contributed by Aarni Koskela in [#302](https://github.com/ionelmc/pytest-benchmark/issues/302) <https://github.com/ionelmc/pytest-benchmark/pull/302>_.

Updates coverage to 7.15.4

7.15.4

Version 7.15.4 — 2026-08-06

  • Fix: in the HTML report, a source file name containing a double quote (legal on POSIX) wasn’t escaped where it’s dropped into the href of the index and prev/next links, so it could close the attribute early and inject markup. Page URLs are now escaped. Thanks, Rajath Mohare.
  • Fix: the LCOV report wrote file names and other fields into its line-oriented records without neutralizing control characters. A measured file whose name contained a newline (legal on POSIX) could forge extra records, inflating the coverage seen by tools that read the report. Control characters in a field are now replaced. Thanks, Rajath Mohare.
  • Wheels are now provided for Python 3.15.

  • Fix: the sysmon core is incompatible with dynamic contexts. Previously, the combination would be prevented when read from the coverage.py configuration. But using the context API as pytest-cov does, contexts would be silently dropped. Now a warning is issued, thanks to Jisang Han <pull 2234_>. Closes issue 2200.
