inconsistent depth data (spot soundings)

Assuming you generated depth contours ans spot sounding from DEM data, then I would expect the spot soundings to be consistent with the contours. The spot sounding values should have a value that is inside the the range of contour area the sounding point is located in. This is very often not the case. There are many spot soundings outside the corresponding contour.

I have actually been working on a rewrite of the soundings today (prompted by your style suggestions in seamap). The current implementation is very non-standard and broken.
