What

Run the reusable flake-closure-diff workflow on dev-kit's own PRs that touch the flake or the workflow.

Why

The workflow is workflow_call-only and nothing in dev-kit calls it, so lock-maintenance PRs like #65 get no closure diff.

Testing

The workflow ran on this PR, since it touches its own trigger path: both sides built and the diff was empty, as expected. #65 will be the first run with a non-empty diff.

Notes for reviewers

  • The self-call passes no Cachix secrets: it only reads from the public cache, and lint already pushes the dev shell.
  • The runs-on input is removed and the runner hard-coded. The only consumer (solution-arsenal) does not set it.
  • The empty-diff summary no longer assumes the lock moved, since the workflow now also runs on flake.nix and workflow changes.

Checklist

  • Tests added/updated, or confirmed that no tests are required
  • No breaking changes, or upgrade path documented above
  • Readable commit history (squashed and cleaned up as desired)
  • AI code review considered and comments resolved

📝 Walkthrough

The pull-request workflow runs the local closure-diff workflow when selected Nix or workflow files change. The closure-diff workflow also updates the message it reports when there are no package-level differences.

Changes: Flake closure diff

Workflow invocation and empty-diff summary

Adds a pull-request workflow with path filters, read-only contents access, and Cachix secret forwarding. Changes the empty-diff message to “No package-level change in the dev shell.”

The change runs the closure diff on dev-kit's own flake and workflow changes and rewords the empty-diff summary. Fork pull requests do not receive credentials, and the same credentials are already used by existing pull-request workflows. Dropping the optional Cachix credentials from this job is a small hardening step, not a merge blocker.

Avoid forwarding Cachix credentials to this comparison job.

Fork pull requests do not receive repository secrets through pull_request. Existing lint.yml and test-actions.yml already pass these credentials before running nix develop on pull-request code, so this workflow does not create the claimed new security boundary.

The pinned Cachix action exports CACHIX_SIGNING_KEY to later steps. It passes authToken to cachix authtoken instead of exporting it as an environment variable. Both inputs are optional, and the opendefensecloud cache is public. Remove both credentials as defense in depth.
