📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughCI workflows now run through the pinned Nix development environment. Shared Cachix setup replaces workflow-specific tool installation. Go caches use trust-scoped keys, and the dev-kit is pinned to version 2.2.0. ChangesNix CI toolchain migration
Priority: ⬇️ Low Estimated code review effort: 3 (Moderate) | ~25 minutes Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to This CI migration can cause releases from valid slash-containing tags to fail while writing the provenance asset. 77-77: 🩺 Stability & Availability | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winSanitize the tag before using it as an asset filename.
Line 77 uses
GITHUB_REF_NAMEdirectly in a path. A valid tag such asv1/releasemakes the destinationbin/arc-v1/release.intoto.jsonl. That parent directory does not exist, socpfails and stops the release job.Proposed fix
- run: cp "${BUNDLE}" "bin/arc-${GITHUB_REF_NAME}.intoto.jsonl" + run: | + asset_tag="${GITHUB_REF_NAME//\//-}" + cp "${BUNDLE}" "bin/arc-${asset_tag}.intoto.jsonl"🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Fix only still-valid issues, skip the rest with a brief reason, keep changes minimal, and validate. In @.github/workflows/release.yaml at line 77, Sanitize GITHUB_REF_NAME before constructing the destination asset path in the release workflow, replacing path separators or otherwise normalizing the tag into a single filename-safe component. Update the cp command using BUNDLE so tags such as v1/release produce a valid file directly under bin while preserving the existing asset naming pattern.

What
Run all six tool-installing workflows inside the nix dev shell, so CI and local
development share one toolchain definition.
Closes #441
Why
CI installed
kind/kubectl/helmby curl, Go viasetup-go, helm viaazure/setup-helm, andsed-grepped the Go version out offlake.nix— while theflake already pinned all of them. The nix preamble comes from dev-kit's
setup-nixaction (dev-kit#30, v2.2.0),
proven in solution-arsenal#792.
Testing
make testgreen on dev-kit's sideload script — 6 suites, 67 specs. Thisneeded real verification: ARC's own script was 43 lines behind and had never run
that code path.
kind v0.32.0stood up a realkindest/node:v1.36.1cluster and scheduled a pod.
kubectl v1.36.3vs av1.36.1server is inside skew.actionlintclean (one pre-existing SC2086 in untoucheddocker.yaml);update-action-pinspasses; dev shell resolves go/kind/kubectl/helm/shellcheck.test-e2e(it isworkflow_call, driven bydocker.yaml)and cachix cold-start cost.
Notes for reviewers
Two developer-visible changes.
feat!: disable osv-scanner pre-commit hook by default. Its condition holds here:osv-scanner.ymlstill scans every PR, every push to main, and weekly.make scanruns it locally.
kubectlmoves off floatingstable.txtto the nixpkgs pin (1.36.3).Unavoidable when sourcing from nix, and better than a version that can drift ahead
of the server.
helmis a true no-op — v4.2.4 both before and after.cosign is unchanged.
pkgs.cosignis dropped from the flake because it was unusedand would have shadowed
cosign-installerunder a nix shell, silently changing whichcosign signs releases. The installer stays in all three signing workflows, one pin,
Renovate-managed — matching solution-arsenal, whose flake also has no cosign.
Go caches are new, not scope creep.
setup-gowarmedGOMODCACHE/GOCACHEimplicitly; dropping it without a replacement would regress. Keys are per-job and
trust-scoped (
pr/trusted).release.yamldeliberately gets none — privilegedsigning job, preserving the old
setup-gocache: false. Both dev-kit pins now agree at v2.2.0. The flake input was floating on a commit
older than v1.0.15. Adopting dev-kit's envtest sideloading needed the
DEV_KIT_VERSIONbump anyway, sincecommon.mknow provides theenvtest-binaries-sideloadtarget ARC carried locally.Non-goal:
on.pathsgating.golang.yamlkeeps its path filters.protect-mainrequires only
checkandCodeQL, andcodegen.yamlhas no filters, so nothing canfail to report today — but if
lint/testare ever made required, they must move toa
changesjob first or a docs-only PR will never report.Scope was six workflows, not four —
codegen.yamlandhelm-publish.yamlalsocalled
setup-go/setup-helm.Three corrections for the issue text:
test-e2e.yamlinstalls noyqand noflux(only kind, kubectl, helm); there is noapt-getanywhere in.github/workflows/;golangci-lintcomes fromtools.lock, not nix.Checklist
