Fixes #175

PR content(blog): how do you import a spreadsheet from an old system? import mappings, dry runs, three non-match outcomes #283 改同一组文件(updated 行会冲突),后落地者解决。
  • 先看:content/blog/extend-existing-systems-with-ai/index.mdx 第 1 步代码块及其前后两段;index.zh-Hans.mdx 同处。

What changes

The step-1 datasource sample in extend-existing-systems-with-ai, in all eight locale files (seven authored, zh-Hant regenerated by pnpm gen:zh-hant):

  • import type { Datasource } from '@objectstack/spec' + annotated literal becomes defineDatasource from @objectstack/spec/data.
  • config.connection.{host,user,password,database} becomes a flat config with host, database, username from the environment, and no password.
  • The password is bound through the secret store: external: { credentialsRef: process.env.BIZ_DB_CREDENTIALS_REF }. On a managed datasource credentialsRef is the one external key allowed (spec #8153).
  • The sentence above the code said "Credentials come from the environment, never inlined in source". That is no longer true of the password, so it now says connection details come from the environment and the password lives encrypted in the secret store, with only an opaque handle (external.credentialsRef) on the datasource. The read-replica / read-only DB user advice stays as it was.
  • One new sentence after the code says that defineDatasource checks the declaration against the Postgres driver's config schema when the file loads.
  • updated: 2026-10-29T10:00:00+08:00 in every locale. date is unchanged.

The code block is byte-identical in all eight files. The block has no comments, so nothing needed translating.

Why defineDatasource and not Datasource. In the published 18.2.0 spec, defineDatasource's own doc comment calls it "preferred over a bare : Datasource literal". It also runs DatasourceSchema.parse(). The Datasource type types config as z.record(string, unknown), so the old literal type-checks and only fails at parse. The ObjectStack guide content/docs/data-modeling/external-datasources.mdx uses defineDatasource imported from @objectstack/spec/data. The post's other samples also import from /data. Both the root and /data export it in 18.2.0.

Tests

Measured against @objectstack/spec@18.2.0. npm view @objectstack/cli dist-tags returns { latest: '18.2.0', next: '18.2.0' }, and @objectstack/spec is the same. The source read was objectstack origin/main @ 4a00b2b7.

Old sample: refused
old: REFUSED
  - ["config"] custom Unrecognized key(s) on this postgres datasource's config: `connection`. ...

Flattened, the same keys still fail twice:

- ["config","password"] `password` is a credential and is not accepted inline in driver config: ... Bind the secret instead: the Setup → Datasources connection form's secret field ... or reference the secrets store directly with `external.credentialsRef`. ...
- ["config"] Unrecognized key(s) on this postgres datasource's config: `user`. Did you mean `user` → `username`? ...
New sample: parses (code block extracted from `index.mdx`, run under node)
PARSES {"host":"crm-db.internal","database":"crm","username":"crm_readonly"} sys_secret:sec_123 managed
exit=0

Control: adding password: 'x' to the new config is refused (["config","password"] ... not accepted inline). With the env vars unset, the parse refuses loudly on ["config","database"] ("needs a connection target") instead of silently using defaults.

tsc --strict (TypeScript 5.9.3, moduleResolution: nodenext) on the sample against the 18.2.0 types: exit 0.

Acceptance notes

Verification

Head 12a9f3a, worktree off main @ 6d95393:

Gate Exit
pnpm install --frozen-lockfile 0
pnpm content:lint 0 (content lint passed (383 files, 46 glossary terms checked), no warning on this post)
pnpm check (under the shared verify lock) 0 (0 errors, 0 warnings, 0 hints, 160 files)
pnpm build (under the shared verify lock) 0 (948 pages; content lint --dist links/CJK/quotes passed)
pnpm seo:smoke 0 (SEO smoke test passed (938 HTML pages checked ...))

Browser check of the built dist/ (Playwright Chromium) for en, zh-Hans and ja at 1440×750 and 390×844, with the screenshots looked at. The code block and the new sentences render, and the header reads "Updated Oct 29, 2026". dateModified and article:modified_time = 2026-10-29T02:00:00.000Z. There is no horizontal page overflow. At 390px the code block scrolls horizontally behind the site's fade, the same as the old block and this post's second sample.

The connect-route sample nested its keys under `config.connection`, spelled
`user` for `username`, and inlined a password. On @objectstack/spec 18.2.0
(npm `latest`) the Postgres driver's strict config schema refuses all three.

Rewrite it as `defineDatasource` with a flat `config` (host, database,
username from the environment) and the password bound through the secret
store via `external.credentialsRef`, in all seven authored locales; zh-Hant
regenerated. Set `updated` to 2026-10-29; `date` unchanged.

席位核对

ACCEPT on head 12a9f3a, 2026-10-29T14:46Z. Held for a human merge: the maintainer confirms merges for this seat.

  • 形态 (shape): 8 locale files, +105 −94, all under content/blog/extend-existing-systems-with-ai/. The seat read the English diff in full. The sample is now defineDatasource from @objectstack/spec/data, with a flat config (host, database, username from env), no password anywhere, and the secret bound through external.credentialsRef. The lead-in sentence is rewritten so it stays true. One new sentence explains load-time validation. updated is 2026-10-29 and date is untouched.
  • 前提实测 (premise): the dev ran the samples against npm latest @objectstack/spec 18.2.0. The old sample is refused (connection unrecognised, user → username, inline password refused). The new sample parses. As a control, the new sample with config.password added is refused. tsc --strict passes on the sample. The ts block hashes identically in all 8 files.
  • 门禁 (gates): check-run Build and deploy = success on 12a9f3a. The dev's local content:lint, check, build and seo:smoke all exited 0.
  • 接受的偏差 (accepted deviations): the browser pass used 2 viewports, not the 6 in AGENTS.md. That is acceptable here because the change is to prose and a code block, there are no new visuals, the code block scrolls inside its pre, and the dev looked at the screenshots. The commit trailer carries no model name.
  • 范围外去向 (out of scope): three stale credential prescriptions in objectstack spec guidance and docs are one family. The seat filed them as one card, Datasource credential guidance prescribes shapes the 18.2.0 schema refuses: top-level password guidance, the credentialsRef example, and the drivers.mdx read-only section objectstack#27614.
  • 落地条款 (landing): squash-merge after the maintainer confirms. This corrects a published post, so it uses no publishing slot. Open PR content(blog): how do you import a spreadsheet from an old system? import mappings, dry runs, three non-match outcomes #283 touches the same files, and whichever lands later resolves the conflict.
