Release and test the Rust and C guest SDKs against the host ABI #9

Description

@ctfbruce

Problem

Rust wrappers and a C header exist as local samples. Their published packaging, ownership and ABI feature parity have not been established.

Proposed change

Package the existing Rust/C guest interfaces with a supported toolchain matrix; specify missing operations instead of assuming Go parity.

Acceptance criteria

  • Each language builds and executes a TCP read/EOF and listener example through the real host.
  • Generated or checked signatures agree with the host ABI; invalid memory/error semantics are documented.
  • Package versions, license notices, maintenance ownership and installation commands are tested from an empty consumer project.

Current evidence

unimplemented requirement. Backlog classification is based on source inspection; this issue does not claim a new runtime reproduction.

Dependencies

  • #4 — Execute previous-version WASM guests in an ABI compatibility suite

Priority

Optional expansion. This does not block the working local team alpha; select it after the required contracts and maintenance ownership are established.

Validation must use owned local fixtures on supported Linux environments. Record the implementing merge request and relevant test results before closing this issue.

    PR #408 merged as aa3ac6d. The pinned compiler gate rebuilds the current C and Rust sources, checks retained artifact/source digests, and builds empty consumers from the copied C header and packaged Rust crate. Real host TCP read/EOF, listener and refusal cases pass; package license notices and installation commands are included.

    The candidate CI, guest source gate and corresponding merged-main gates passed. Guest language documentation records the tested matrix and remaining ABI limits. This stays open for accountable maintenance ownership and release/support acceptance; experimental source packaging does not imply full Go parity or a supported registry release.
