feat(cli): show when a hosted member last called, and its latest ring - #2121
The team can see when a hosted member last showed up. That's a tool on the team that lives outside a terminal, such as an assistant, a chat bot or a cloud agent. For each hosted member, rig_team now says:
when it last called the team's MCP server;
its latest ring and how that went.
With no evidence it says unknown, never idle. Presence isn't pickup: a claim on a row is still the only pickup. rig roster show and find show the last call.
What changed
Recording the last call:rig mcp serve --http records each token-file grant's last call after authenticating it.
It writes at most once a minute per seat, by atomic rename, at mode 0600.
The record goes in mcp-http-presence.json, beside the token file and never in it. The grant store stays as rig mcp token writes it.
A write that fails is logged and never refuses the caller.
Cloud-grant customers aren't team members, so no presence is kept for them.
rig_team's hosted members carry presence: { lastCallAt, lastWake, lastWakeScope }:
lastWake is the newest ring (when, the result, the row) among the member's 50 most recent rows, read through the existing queue list route;
null is unknown.
rig roster show/find shows a hosted member's last call.
Docs:hosted-members.md describes presence, drops the "no last-call presence yet" limit, and says a receiver should tolerate a repeated qitem_id. A ring accepted just before the daemon stops is rung again on recovery.
a recovery test's final drain now runs on a repository with an outbox, so its "no third ring" check isn't a no-op;
a new control shows that the boot re-nudge rings again after an accepted ring.
No daemon change, migration, new refusal, prompt or required step.
Cost
CLI source:mcp-presence.ts (new); in mcp-http.ts, the recorder at the auth point and the path passed to rig_team; mcp-server.ts, the presence on hosted members; roster.ts, the last call.
Tests:
mcp-presence.test.ts: once per seat per interval, mode 0600, unreadable means unknown, and a failed write never throws;
the rig_team unit case: last call and newest ring, with another seat's rows ignored;
the HTTP server over a real socket against real daemon routes: an unauthenticated request writes no presence, an authenticated one does, and the token file is untouched;
two daemon wake tests.
Proof
At this head, CI passes all 14 checks, including:
the CLI package tests: mcp-presence, the rig_team presence case, and the HTTP server over a real socket;
the daemon package tests: the two wake tests;
typecheck, build-and-package, installed-scenario and repo-checks.
On main: the new tests can't pass, because mcp-presence.ts doesn't exist and rig_team has no presence. An executor run recording that failure follows when the executor is free; it's held behind a release job.
Not run: a real hosted tool calling a deployed server. That's the native trial's.
Hosted-member roster entries show the latest recorded MCP call and wake details, including wake time and result when available. Call timestamps appear only when the member is hosted locally.
Token-authenticated MCP calls are recorded locally, with repeat calls for the same member limited to once per minute by default.
Documentation
Webhook receivers should tolerate repeated queue item IDs during recovery.
Hosted-member presence documentation explains when call and wake details are recorded and where they appear.
rig mcp serve --http records each token-file grant's last call (at most once

presence: lastCallAt, and lastWake (the newest ring among their 50 most
recent rows). Null is unknown, never idle, and presence isn't pickup.
rig roster show/find shows the last call. Cloud-grant customers get none.
From #2115's review: the docs say a receiver should tolerate a repeated
qitem_id; a recovery test's final drain now runs on a repository with an
outbox; and a control shows the boot re-nudge rings again after an accepted
ring.

Walkthrough
The CLI now records authenticated MCP call times and exposes hosted-member call and wake presence in server results and roster output. The documentation describes these fields and repeated wake rings after recovery. A daemon test checks that recovery can send another ring after an accepted ring.

Record authenticated MCP calls packages/cli/src/mcp-presence.ts, packages/cli/src/mcp-http.ts, packages/cli/test/mcp-presence.test.ts, packages/cli/test/mcp-http-daemon.test.ts
The CLI records a hosted member’s grant and call time in a presence file. Recording is interval-limited, and write failures do not prevent the caller from proceeding. Tests cover recording, file permissions, invalid data, and unauthenticated requests.
Hosted-member results include the last call time and latest valid wake among recent rows addressed to the seat. Roster output displays the call time. The documentation describes these fields and where they appear.

Summary
Document and test repeated recovery rings packages/daemon/test/hosted-member-wake.test.ts, docs/reference/hosted-members.md
The daemon test expects recovery to send another ring after an accepted ring. The documentation says webhook receivers may receive repeated rings with the same qitem_id.

Bound hosted-member presence lookups.
presenceOf uses DaemonClient.get with the default 5-second timeout. Sequential awaits make slow lookups cumulative. Ten timed-out lookups could add about 50 seconds to rig_team.
Use bounded concurrency. Preserve the current per-member null fallback when a lookup fails. The repository does not establish that ten hosted members are typical, so this is a performance issue rather than a major-impact failure.

rig roster show/find spans hosts, and the presence file is this host's, so a
same-named seat on another host borrowed this host's last call. Join on this
host's id (from the local daemon's nodes) and the seat; another host's
member, or one whose host can't be told, reads unknown (null).

Approved at f71f367. After a grant authenticates at the MCP HTTP server, the CLI records the seat's last call in a 0600 presence file beside the token file, never in it, at most once a minute per seat by atomic rename, and an unauthenticated or failed request writes nothing; rig_team and rig roster then show a hosted member's last call and latest ring, with null meaning unknown, never idle, and a roster row on another host reads null rather than borrowing this host's record. Security-lens pair: Claude half (review50-r3) CLEAR at 903bfc3, Codex half (dev-guard) found the cross-host attribution and CLEARed its fix at this head; the new controls fail on main. Required CI passes at this head.
