fix(tui): don't draw into a zero-size terminal - #2099
rig or rig tui started in a terminal that reports 0 rows or columns (a detached, headless or just-resizing pane) now waits and draws on the next resize, instead of crashing on its first frame. Present since 0.7.2.
The cause
The command-focus blink reads the screen's first line (render.ts, renderScreen). At 0 rows the screen is sliced to no lines, so the line is undefined and line.slice throws. rows ?? 32 only covers an unreported size, not a reported 0.
The change
drawableSize(columns, rows) (render.ts): the size to draw at, or null when either is 0. An unreported size keeps the 120x32 defaults.
The draw loop (main.ts) skips the frame when it's null. The view keeps its state (no layout update at a size nothing fits), and the existing resize handler draws again. Keys are unaffected, so q still quits.
draw() is the only caller of renderScreen.
Proof
Native, tmux 3.6 on Linux, --demo, a pane forced to 0x0 with stty rows 0 cols 0:
main 4b515ecd exits 1 on its first frame with TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'slice') at the blink;
this branch keeps running. After stty rows 40 cols 140 and a SIGWINCH it draws the explorer, and q exits 0.
Sizes, swept on main:renderScreen throws only at 0 rows (0x0, 140x0), in the home and drilled views. It renders at 0 columns and at every size from 1x1 up.
Test (zero-size-terminal.test.ts):
0 rows, 0 columns, or both aren't drawable;
a reported size and the defaults pass through;
every size it accepts renders, down to 1x1, 140x1 and 1x40, in the blink's hidden phase.
On main, it fails because the helper doesn't exist. The behavioural RED is the native run above.
TUI suite: 1147 of 1147 on this branch. Main is 1144 of 1147, with only the three new tests failing. tsc passes.
A terminal that reports 0 rows (a detached, headless or just-resizing pane)
crashed the TUI on its first frame: the command-focus blink read the first
line of a screen sliced to no lines. The draw loop now skips a frame when
the terminal reports 0 rows or columns, keeps the view's state, and draws
on the next resize. An unreported size keeps the 120x32 defaults.
The TUI now resolves terminal dimensions through drawableSize. Drawing stops when either dimension is non-positive. Tests cover omitted dimensions, reported dimensions, and rendering at small positive sizes.

Summary
Resolve dimensions and render packages/tui/src/render.ts, packages/tui/src/main.ts, packages/tui/test/zero-size-terminal.test.ts
drawableSize defaults omitted dimensions to 120×32 and returns null for non-positive dimensions. draw skips rendering when the resolver returns null. Tests cover the resolver and nonempty output at small positive sizes.
The fix appears mergeable, but a test of the zero-size draw path would better protect against the terminal crash returning.

Explanation
The title "fix(tui): don't draw into a zero-size terminal" matches the main change. The PR adds a drawableSize helper that returns null for zero rows or columns, and the draw loop skips frames in that case. This prevents the crash the author describes when the terminal reports zero rows or columns. The title is specific, short, and uses the conventional fix(scope) form.

Cover the zero-size branch in draw().
zero-size-terminal.test.ts tests drawableSize() and renderScreen() directly. It never invokes main.ts's draw() function. The test can therefore pass if the draw guard is removed, while the runtime path still fails when drawableSize() returns null. Add a focused integration test for draw() with zero rows or columns.

Approved at b409bad. The TUI started in a terminal that reports 0 rows or columns no longer crashes on its first frame (TypeError at the blink step, present since 0.7.2): draw() skips that frame and the next resize draws; an unreported size keeps the defaults. Native check on a private tmux server: main crashes at 0x0, the fix waits and draws after a resize, and q exits 0. Desk read as the one reader. Not in 0.7.3's cut. Required CI passes at this head.
…es idle exit
- `rig` or `rig tui` started in a terminal that reports 0 rows or columns
crashes on its first frame. Present since 0.7.2; fixed on main by #2099
for the next release. The existing bullet now says so.
- community-harness-presets.md says a seat's Hermes gateway exits once
idle; that's unchecked, so check with ps before relying on it.
