The example interface config used wide H1-H4 ranges. With RandomTrailers = on AmneziaWG tests data packets against H1-H3 at offsets S1-S3 and drops matches as bad handshakes, so wide ranges silently lose a share of all traffic (amneziawg-go#186, amneziawg-linux-kernel-module#226). Measured on a 1-vCPU node: phone upload 2-4 Mbit/s with ranges about 2e8 wide, 80 Mbit/s with H1-H4 = 1-4 and S1-S4 equal, and no misread packet in the module debug log.

  • The example now carries a 3.1 set: header protection, S1-S4 equal, H1-H4 = 1-4, padding, trailers, cookies off.
  • PostUp adds FORWARD drops between clients and towards private networks, Docker's included.

Verified: the example, with keys filled in, comes up with awg-quick on the 3.1 kernel module and showconf returns the set.

from private networks.
