Hello,
I would like to offer some feedback regarding how highlighted posts are visually indicated in the app. Please refer to the attached image file for a visual comparison.
As seen on the left side, the original layout currently applies a transparent color layer over the entirety of a highlighted post. This approach has a few notable drawbacks:
• Image Distortion: The color overlay washes out and alters the original colors of the posted images.
• Reduced Readability: The overlay also covers the text, which reduces the contrast and makes the content significantly harder to read. Overall, it creates a somewhat unpolished look.
Solution:
The right side shows my mockup of a potential solution. In this version, the highlight color is strictly applied to the background of the text area.
• Benefits: This ensures that the images remain completely untouched and true to their original colors, while keeping the text highly legible.
As a brief aside: I am fully aware that the specific color I chose for this mockup might not win any UI design awards! You might also notice that the text in my example suffered a bit, as the paint tool I used unfortunately chewed up the crisp edges of the font. However, it should be more than enough to illustrate the core concept.
Thank you for your time and for your continuous work on the app.
