Blocks instead of gradient

[irsya0]

Do you know of how to fix it? I am using JetBrainsMono Nerd Font and WezTerm (also tried foot and kitty)

[max397574]

did you perhaps not set termguicolors option?

[vimnux]

I encountered the same issue and ran :help deprecated in Neovim:

DEPRECATED IN 0.10
  • API functions:
    - nvim_buf_get_option()       Use nvim_get_option_value() instead.
    - nvim_buf_set_option()       Use nvim_set_option_value() instead.
    - nvim_call_atomic()                  Use nvim_exec_lua() instead.
    - nvim_get_option()           Use nvim_get_option_value() instead.
    - nvim_set_option()           Use nvim_set_option_value() instead.
    - nvim_win_get_option()       Use nvim_get_option_value() instead.
    - nvim_win_set_option()       Use nvim_set_option_value() instead.

Searching for mentioned deprecated functions using the grep command yielded the following results:
grep -inr nvim_buf_set_option

lua/colortils/css.lua:210:    vim.api.nvim_buf_set_option(buf, "modifiable", false)

While reviewing your .lua files, I noticed the use of the unpack() function, which is deprecated.

Lua Diagnostics: Deprecated (Defined in Lua 5.1/LuaJIT; current version is Lua 5.4.) [deprecated]

Although the issue has been addressed in the file lua/colortils/log.lua on line 46 with the following correction:

local unpack = unpack or table.unpack

the deprecated function is still used in the following locations without the mentioned fix:

lua/colortils/tools/gradients/init.lua:22:            local h, s, l, a = unpack(color_utils.rgb_to_hsl(red, green, blue, 1 - state.transparency / 100))
lua/colortils/tools/gradients/init.lua:25:            local h, s, l = unpack(color_utils.rgb_to_hsl(red, green, blue))
lua/colortils/tools/picker.lua:68:            local h, s, l, a = unpack(color_utils.rgb_to_hsl(red, green, blue, 1 - transparency / 100))
lua/colortils/tools/picker.lua:71:            local h, s, l = unpack(color_utils.rgb_to_hsl(red, green, blue))

The Lua language server reported warnings regarding "missing parameter" and "type mismatches in assignment" in several .lua files.
It is unclear whether the functions in question are intentionally designed this way. If not, these issues may lead to unexpected behavior.

While the plugin currently displays white blocks instead of a colorful bar, it remains highly useful and is greatly appreciated !
I look forward to your next release, which I hope will include fixes for the issue.

Thank you.

[max397574]

neovim uses lua 5.1
so the unpack is actually wrong

the other deprecated functions shouldn't have an effect on this issue

[vimnux]

Thank you for the fast reply and explanation !

The option termguicolors = true. Are there any other options you would recommend I try?

Additionally, in section 'Customization' you mention that the row on which I am currently is highlighted with ColortilsCurrentLine. And that I can modify that to change the way the tools look.
I tried setttng ColortilsCurrentLine = true in the configuration. While running command :ColortilsCurrentLine resulted in:
E492: Not an editor command: ColortilsCurrentLine
Any guidance on this would be appreciated.

The tools currently appear as follows:

ColortilsCurrentLine does not change the color of CursorLine in any colorscheme.

Having a ColortilsCurrentLine would be beneficial for better visual context and usability.

[max397574]

ColortilsCurrentLine is a highlight group
not an option and also not an editor command

[vimnux]

The command :highlight ColortilsCurrentLine<Cr>
results in the following:
E411: Highlight group not found: ColortilsCurrentLine

How do I enable Highlight group ColortilsCurrentLine ?

[max397574]

you define it
:h :highlight

I don't see how that's related to this issue though

[vimnux]

While using your plugin, the command :highlight ColortilsCurrentLine indicates that the highlight group is defined with cterm=bold and gui=bold:

:highlight ColortilsCurrentLine

ColortilsCurrentLine xxx cterm=bold gui=bold

In my previous message, I mistakenly assumed that the highlight group ColortilsCurrentLine would always be defined.

I apologize for the oversight.
