Due to the very small relevant audience, this issue is not considered a blocker for V3's release.
Mac users can leverage the phenomenal official Laravel Valet software, so the guide should likely utilize that. The Linux offshoots of Valet have issues with the different versions of PHP LK requires, but official Valet should have none of those problems.
However, Valet does not include a database. The Valet documentation suggests DBngin. That said, I'm unsure if it includes a GUI way to access the database akin to PHPMyAdmin, so it will be something to keep in mind.
I'm personally very ignorant when it comes to Mac development, so any suggestions are appreciated!
