Spotted while reading the iOS 27 failure frames for #50 (FramePhone, iPhone 13 mini, 27.0).
Symptom
The Storage section footer reads:
Photos you have viewed are kept on this iPad so the slideshow keeps playing when the
network is down.
…while running on an iPhone.
Where
OwnFrame/Slideshow/SlideshowSettingsView.swift:412
OwnFrame/Localizable.xcstrings:1589 (the string is already in the catalogue, so the fix has
to go through the catalogue too — and the German translation carries the same assumption)
Notes
The app is iPad-first, but iPhone is supported and the tvOS target shares this settings surface,
where "this iPad" would be wrong twice over. Worth checking the catalogue for sibling strings
that hard-code a device name rather than fixing this one line in isolation.
Fix sketch
Device-neutral wording ("kept on this device") avoids a per-platform string and a second
translation. If per-device wording is wanted instead, it needs an idiom switch plus tvOS/iPhone
variants in the catalogue — more surface for the same benefit.
Cosmetic, not release-blocking.
