20 years at the intersection of engineering, product and knowledge management
With strong technical foundations (Linux, networking, security, coding and AI), I've built and shipped software in very different business domains: e-commerce, mobile secure messaging, banking and tax compliance, civic and gov tech, and SaaS.
I care about UX, CX and DX. That's why shared ownership is key to me. I'm a documentarian at heart, good at explaining and redesigning complex technical systems (including sociotechnical). Lately, I've been speaking about AX (Agent eXperience) too, specifically from a docs perspective.
Known for advocating #NoMeetings: healthier remote work, with fewer meetings and better async collaboration. Because the most effective way to change how people behave is to change the system they are in, turning better ways of working into the path of least resistance.
Teaching is my second vocation. I've been doing it at university, in mentoring initiatives and tech communities, as well as coaching engineering teams and speaking at conferences.

I use agentic coding on my own harness, deciding what the agent can own, what needs deterministic scripts, and what still needs my judgment. Some of what I've built that way is public:
- Transparencia ES: AI agent explaining public procurement open data in plain language, with a Claude Agent Skill as its brain. Ship for Good hackathon, 2026.
- wallapop-to-vinted: Python tool to scrape and migrate listings between marketplaces, built with Claude Code, 2026.
- jrub-web: my personal site for talks and public interventions, javirubio.net.
