Use googlePanicImage to display a direct 'View' link, 'image resolution/dimensions' and 'size in byte/kb or mb" on hovered images at Google Image search.
Also additional options are provided to configure and show image sizes directly below or on the images of the search.
No additional requests to any of the websites are made, the data is.. "provided" ;)
Note: The addon is current only published in "Version 4.x" for Firefox and Chrome - other versions are on the way asap.

I would recommend to use Firemonkey - see here as a userscript/css manager.
To use the script, copy and paste the contents of "gpi.js" as a new user script to run at Google and enjoy° :)
