Summary

  • Preferences' Firefox extension link now points at https://github.com/jonocodes/savr/releases?q=extension&expanded=true (extension releases only; releases/latest belongs to the app) instead of the savr.link/extension/firefox.xpi redirect, which Firefox was blocking ("Firefox prevented this install…"). Users click the savr-firefox-<version>.xpi asset there.
  • VITE_CHROME_EXTENSION_URL now defaults to empty, so the Chrome link is hidden until a Chrome Web Store listing exists.
  • The savr.link redirect and updates.json auto-update flow are unchanged.
  • README, extension README, env-var docs and CHANGELOG updated.

Test plan

  • tests/e2e/preferences-extension.spec.ts passes (docker e2e)
  • Click the Firefox link on the deployed Preferences page in real Firefox, install the .xpi from the release

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Firefox blocked installs from the savr.link/extension/firefox.xpi
redirect when clicked from Preferences. Point the Firefox link at
releases/latest instead, and default the Chrome link to empty (hidden)
until a Chrome Web Store listing exists.

The repo's latest release belongs to the app (extension releases are
created with --latest=false), so releases/latest would stop pointing at
an XPI once the app cuts a release. ?q=ext-v matches nothing; ?q=extension
matches the release titles.
