Hi, I'm John 👋

I'm a senior full-stack engineer with 7 years building the platforms, frameworks, and tooling that other engineers build on.

Most of my work lives inside products that aren't mine to show: freight rail monitoring platforms tracking tens of thousands of locomotives, multi-platform diagnostics apps (web, iOS, Android) adopted across major operators globally, and an internal SDK + scheduling framework that lets domain experts author and ship production Python logic without touching a codebase. I introduced my platform's first static analysis, linting, and code review standards, and built out CI/CD pipelines where none existed.

I care about craft, learning, and building products that make people's lives better — not just keeping them scrolling.

What I work with

Day-to-day React · TypeScript · React Query · React Native · Vite · MUI · Java · Kotlin · Spring Boot · REST APIs · Oracle

Also real Python (working knowledge) · CI/CD · PostgreSQL

What I'm interested in

  • Full-stack product work — owning a feature from API to UI, not just the layer I was handed
  • Teams that care about maintainability and velocity, not just shipping features
  • Technically ambitious problems in domains I haven't worked in yet

What's here

My public repos are mostly older school projects — nothing that represents where I am today. I'm working on getting a personal project polished and hosted. In the meantime, the best window into how I think and work is a conversation.
