hebbot 0.1

Overview

hebbot is an Emacs-based neuroscience learning tool that started off as a Claude Code experiment and spun out of control. It requires the hebbot FastAPI backend running on a localhost. I’s morphed into a RAG-backed study assistant that sits on top of these three textbooks:

1. Kandel et al. (2013), Principles of Neural Science (5th Ed.)
2. Gazzaniga et al. (2019), Cognitive Neuroscience: The Biology of the Mind (5th Ed.)
3. Purves et al. (2018), Neuroscience (6th Ed.)

Usage:

• M-x hebbot Open the chat buffer
• M-x hebbot-ingest Ingest a PDF into the knowledge base

In the chat buffer:

• RET Send input
• C-j Insert newline
• C-c C-m Switch study mode
• C-c C-s Show session stats
• C-c C-c Abort streaming response
• q Quit (in conversation area) / self-insert (in input area)
