CATABILITY AS A METRIC FOR EVALUATING SUPERPOSED COHERENT STATES
(https://doi.org/10.1103/qfnt-6drh)
Superposed coherent states are central to quantum technologies,
yet their reliable identification remains challenging,
especially in noisy or resource-constrained settings. We
introduce a novel, directly measurable criterion for detecting
cat-like features in quantum states.
Runtime environment
To create the runtime environment, run
python -m venv runtime
runtime/bin/python -m pip install -r project/requirements.pip
where the installation of mpi4py might require additional tools available in
the environment. Please see its documentation for further details.
Establishing Gaussian thresholds (see task.thresholds) is computationally
expensive and benefits from parallelization. To enable parallel execution on
networked devices, the project integrates the standardized Message Passing
Interface (MPI) through the mpi4py library.
Support for the mpirun command is required within the operating system.
Execution
(1) task.thresholds (refer to 'task.thresholds/README')
The numerical simulations depend on Gaussian thresholds. Consequently,
these must be determined first before any other processing.
The thresholds can be obtained by executing the relevant task.
Alternatively, precomputed datasets are provided.
(2) task.comparison (refer to 'task.comparison/README')
This task produces the datasets used by the first figure of the
manuscript and also provides the procedures necessary for their
reproduction.
Alternatively, precomputed datasets are provided.
(3) task.measurable (refer to 'task.measurable/README')
This task produces the datasets used by the second figure of the
manuscript and also provides the procedures necessary for their
reproduction.
Alternatively, precomputed datasets are provided.
Readily available datasets
This repository contains precomputed datasets within the 'results' directory.
The figures presented within the published manuscript can be reconstructed
from this data.
The figures are also available within the 'figures' directory.
