Building on windows error

I have not set up the ffmpeg dependency, but i dont think that should cause this problem with the ffi overflowing

probably because the crates\media_info\src\ffi_ffmpeg-**.rs files are not updated for ffmpeg 7 or 8

Install pkg-config: winget install bloodrock.pkg-config-lite
Download ffmpeg to: C:/ffmpeg

media_info/build.rs:

Thanks for reporting, sadly or gladly - depends on perspective - Win support is not part of this project - preferred target is Linux and containers.

I never compiled on Win, but some other people did in past - it builded, but I think there were some functionality restrictions.

That said reported error is in code automatically generated by bindgen - I actually updated it yesterday- so check you have latest master.

Version of libavformat - of ffmpeg - is not problem I think, rather Version of bindgen. I pregenerate FFI for libavformat bindings - you can check script - generare_ffi.sh or something like that in crrates/media_info - then in build.rs correct version should be used based on found library.

is there a reason to generate bindings yourself instead of using the cargo rusty_ffmpeg package?
I got it to build on windows by generating the new bindings and fixing some small errors

Reason is basically historical - did not see rusty_ffmpeg in past- plus I need only libavformat

ok I found a good way to handle this. it has some issues, but it's a lot nicer. updating my PR by EOD.
windows support is adding some workarounds. but it should work for the time being.
