PN-IO-connectivity-with-Bosch-MLC

This application example shows how to use the Industrial Edge App PROFINET IO Connector with BOSCH MLC.

Description

Overview

This document describes how PROFINET Connector reads the cyclic data from the BOSCH MLC and how to configure the PROFINET IO Connector. It also describes the engineering effort on PLC software side.

overview

General task

In this application example we are going to setup BOSCH MLC as an PN IO device and Industrial Edge Device (IED) as an PN IO controller. Then, PN IO data of BOSCH MLC are cyclically read using the PROFINET IO Connector application. The data are published via the PROFINET IO Connector in binary data or JSON data from to Databus (MQTT broker within IED). First, the PROFINET IO Connector must be configured as an PN IO controller in application Common Configurator. The configuration file for PROFINET IO Connector will be exported form the TIA portal as an XML file. It includes the PROFINET configuration and it must be uploaded into application Common Configurator. The Databus will provide the data from the PROFINET IO connector for further processing under the respective MQTT topic. This data can be further processed in applications such as IIH Essentials or Flow creator.

Requirements

Prerequisities
