Summary

Dependabot's Docker updates now skip major and minor versions of the golang build image, and propose patch updates only.

  • The image in Dockerfile and Dockerfile.test follows the toolchain go.mod pins (1.26.8). CI's unit tests, -race, lint and govulncheck, and GoReleaser's release archives, all use that toolchain.
  • deps(docker): bump golang from 1.26.8-alpine to 1.27.1-alpine in the docker-minor-and-patch group #160 moved only the Docker builds to Go 1.27.1. The images would then have shipped a toolchain that only the functional suite exercises.
  • A move to a new Go minor is deliberate: go.mod, both Dockerfiles and golangci-lint change together (v2.11.4 is built with Go 1.26.1).

Go 1.26 stays supported until Go 1.28, and 1.26.8 is its current patch, released the same day as 1.27.1. The alpine runtime image keeps its minor and patch updates.

The golang image in both Dockerfiles follows the toolchain go.mod pins,
which CI, the unit tests, govulncheck and the GoReleaser archives use.
#160 moved only the Docker builds to Go 1.27.1, which would have shipped
a toolchain that only the functional suite exercises. A Go minor is a
deliberate move across go.mod, both Dockerfiles and golangci-lint, so
Dependabot now proposes golang patch updates only.
