The Gridfour Software Project recently posted a web article titled "What Entropy tells us about Data Compression". It is an informal, introductory article that is intended to provide background information to developers using the Gridfour software. On the whole, it's a lightweight, but I do want to make sure that nothing it says is vague, misleading, or just plain wrong.
