Fork-only reproduction for an upstream bench-regress gate report. Injects a deterministic 300us slowdown into the cholesky_factor bench cells. Expected (defective) behavior: criterion detects the regression, scripts/bench-regress.sh exits 1, make maps it to exit 2, the workflow's cold-start branch soft-passes it, job concludes SUCCESS with a false 'no criterion baseline cached' warning.
