What Changed in the SDK
PR #7831 removed the enableSessionReplayInUnreliableEnvironment checker entirely. The auto-disable behavior introduced in v8.57.0 (which silently disabled Session Replay on iOS 26 simulators) no longer exists.
The current skill file contains a section similar to:
"Starting with v8.57.0, Session Replay is automatically and silently disabled on iOS 26 simulators due to a PII vulnerability. Use
options.experimental.sessionReplay.enableSessionReplayInUnreliableEnvironment = trueto override."
This is now incorrect — the opt-in override flag and the auto-disable behavior have both been removed.
Required Skill Update
In skills/sentry-cocoa-sdk/references/session-replay.md:
- Remove the iOS 26 auto-disable section (or replace with a note that the issue was resolved in v8.XX.0)
- Remove any reference to
enableSessionReplayInUnreliableEnvironment - If the PII concern on iOS 26 is still relevant but handled differently, document the current behavior
The exact replacement text depends on whether a different mitigation is now in place — check the PR #7831 description and sentry-cocoa release notes for the final state.
