The starting point for moving a Webflow or Framer site to a headless CMS. Point it at a published URL and it measures the migration for you — how many pages, how many section types, how much media, which forms, where the risk sits — then sends you on to the open-source tool that carries that site across to Sanity or Payload.
| Sanity | Payload | |
|---|---|---|
| Webflow | webflow-to-sanity-migration | webflow-to-payload-migration |
| Framer | framer-to-sanity-migration | framer-to-payload-migration |
Each repository runs one path end to end and hands you a working project. This repository is the index, and it carries the assessment that runs before any of them.
pnpm install
pnpm exec playwright install chromiumLaunch Claude Code in this repository and call the skill with a published URL:
/assessment https://your-site/
The run lands in ../assessments/<project-name> and writes the report there in two
formats:
report.md— plain markdown.report.html— the same findings as a designed, self-contained page: every count laid out visually, every section type and global illustrated with its own screenshot.
Both formats carry the same sections and the same numbers; only the presentation differs.
| Section | What it answers |
|---|---|
| Scope at a glance | every headline count — pages, unique layout pages, collections, section types, globals |
| Complexity assessment | a rating per area — content model, page composition, design system, forms, volume |
| Content model | each collection, its routePattern and how many documents it holds |
| Page-builder pages | every page composed by hand, and the sections it is built from |
| Section library | every section type, how often it recurs, and where it is used |
| Global sections | the header, footer and anything else shared site-wide, with its coverage |
| Forms | every form, its fields and where its submissions go |
| Media & typography | unique images, videos and font families, after de-duplication |
| Risks & watch-outs | what will bite during the rebuild, called out before you quote it |
| How the migration runs | the steps the rebuild takes, in order |
Three assessments generated by this repository — the full HTML report, plus the same report in markdown.
| Site | Live report | Markdown |
|---|---|---|
| nova-x.webflow.io | open | read |
| rythm-path-five.webflow.io | open | read |
| pixwave.framer.website | open | read |
Ten phases, each one resumable; a run picks up at the first phase that has not finished.
| phase | what it does |
|---|---|
init-project |
resolves the project directory for a source URL and creates it |
probe |
fetches the home page, robots.txt, the sitemap and a 404 page |
detect |
scores the home page against the Webflow and Framer signal registries and gates the run |
inventory |
crawls the site into its page list and its CMS collections |
assets |
inventories every image, video and font family — without downloading one |
forms |
scans every mirrored page for forms and their fields |
stitch |
renders every unique layout page as a full-page desktop screenshot |
discovery |
segments each of those pages into sections, then folds them into section types and globals |
crops |
crops one screenshot per section type and per global |
report |
renders everything into report.md and the designed report.html |
| Guide | Question it answers |
|---|---|
| Assess a migration without CMS access | How do I size a migration when all I have is a public URL? |
| What is a section type and how to count them | How do I count sections when the source has no model of them? |
| Deduplicate assets without downloading them | How do I collapse duplicate images without fetching the files? |
