Bug Report

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Enable OIDC, so that the navbar shows the user menu.
  2. Set the browser width to 1024px.
  3. Open any page with the navbar, for example #/finos/architectures/1/3.0.0.

Expected Result:

The navbar shows the CALM logo, the theme toggle, the search bar and the user menu side by side.

Actual Result:

The theme toggle covers the right edge of the CALM logo. At lg and above the logo is absolutely centred, and .navbar-end has the daisyUI width: 50%. With the search bar and the user name, the end group is wider than half the navbar, so it spills left over the logo.

User name Overlap at 1024px No overlap from
Bob 12px ~1050px
Matthew Bain 77px ~1180px
Long name (truncated at max-w-32) 113px ~1250px

Environment:

#3517 at 478ceb3, Vite dev server, Chromium, 1024 × 768 viewport. #3517 does not change the layout at lg and above, so main at 70866e6 is the same. The user menu was a copy of the UserMenu button markup in .navbar-end.

Additional Context:

Found during the review of #3517, which fixes the same overlap below lg (#3505). If the #3517 in-flow layout is used at all widths, there is no overlap, but the logo is then 75px left of centre at 1280px and above, also when there is space. The cause of this offset is not known yet.
